Even though I got all twenty reps today I got the worlds biggest headache while squatting today. Has anyone ever experienced this? How can I avoid it? I may cut the squats down to only monday and friday and a Recovery workout in between. Any thoughts on that?

I have used the 20-rep program off and on and have experienced this before. I had to stop, breakdown my technique and my breathing, and rebuild. It is very important that the breathing is correct on this. My last 5 reps always take longer “up” huffing and puffing then my first 12 reps all together.
Your results are very impressive and much better than mine. I gained ~20 lbs after doing this WO for 4 months, but only going up in weight on the squat every week.
I found the best way to get better at this is to have a spotter, preferably someone who doesn’t like you or will at least tell the truth, and have them watch. They just stand off to the side and call out depth, knee-knocking, or breathing. Having rep 13 not count because you didn’t get low enough really helps the form.
Thanks for the comments. Im hoping to continue on monday and see if I can get through the workout with out getting a headache. I’ll try your advice romeo and see how it works out. Kind of anxious to see how it goes.

Did you drink the milk? Drinking the gallon of milk a day definitely seems to allow for the amount of weight I have gained so quickly. Also I have been 220 before so that could have allowed for the first ten lbs to go on so easy. However, the last ten lbs went on just as easily so I’m not really sure.
Good effort sir. I’m not sure it Rx’s to go up in weight each session though. You will either be an insane circus freak in a couple weeks or hospitalized. I can’t wait to see which. good luck sir and good eating to you.

The supersquats protocol recommends to add 5 to 10 lbs on the squat every session. Right now I am feeling like a circus animal but am starting to feel it heavily on my body. I may only be able to get this one last week in because I am starting as a truck driver helper for UPS this coming saturday. Thanks for the props though.
Good point. I can’t wait to get back home to foam roller again. I accidently left it there after my last break and I am really needing it now. Oh well only one week left and I’ll be back home to roll my life away.
Warming up beats headaches… I had one today while benching but once I started sweating I was fine. Who woulda thought something people have always said to do before lifting would actually help?
Bench: 3x12 (195)
Squats: 1x20 (305)
Pullovers: 1x25 (25)
Seated db Press: 2x10 (65’s)
Bent over rows 2x15 (135)
Pullups: 3x5
Tate press 2x12 (40’s)
Barbell Curls 2 x 12 (80 lb barbell)
I fineshed out last week with two workouts again increasing my squat 5 lbs every work out. Now I am going to switch methods to the texas method. This decision was made because I am starting a new labor intense job over break and my body will no longer be able to recover from the 20 rep squat program.
Results: greatly improved squats and gained a total of 25 lbs in 4 weeks
Weight: 235
Little fat gain.
Hope everyone that looked at this can see the huge benefits of the program.

Actually I played high school football in norther maryland but the DC is for my college football team. However, that still was not a very exciting game to watch. Blowouts are boring.
I will work on posting before and after pictures I’ll have to find something from the summer for my before pictures though.
