What does your accessory, core, mobility if any work look like? Im under the assumption that you do some things outside of what you regularly post, just curious as to if you do any maintainance just to be able to squat that much, i would imagine shit takes a toll on the body.
Also do you find briefs/suit help at all as far as keeping the hips fresh? [/quote]

what i post is what i do, i do some stretching after 3 plates on squatting. if i do some stretching after i normally post that. on the nights i don’t lift i try to do some stretching after i shower and some hip work but that’s it. the briefs and suit really help with the hips, but since i’ve really taken my stance out i still have some slight issues but mainly because i haven’t kept up on my mobility work lately.

interesting, would you recommend light briefs fro hip recovery/support? Im not squatting anything big, (315 or so) but i like to do alot of speed work and sumo deads, and i squat wide, wondering if some loose light briefs would maybe help with not agitating the hip and if so, what would you use to get the least weight carryover, but most support?

i would recomend the inzer groove briefs. they offer good hip support and minimal carryover. they make my hips feel better than actual briefs. if you order some from inzer make sure and order a couple sizes to big, they do stretch a lot(at 200lbs i’m still using the ones i bought when i was 165 and they are easier to get on now) but initially they fit very tight.

You are not fooling anyone Scoops!

no lifting, i’m not entirely sure why i try. haven’t had much to eat today. just laying here and thought of these. not sure if you’ll like it but just came to mind:

If it was, it was not meant to be
If there was, it was not for me
If there is, it wasn?t mine
If there will be, it will not be me

To be, was not for me
Was, will be me
Life, not for me

7-6-12

ummmm, atleast i made it into the gym. did 40 band pull aparts and some stretching. that was it. so after 1.5 weeks of not shoving food in my face and not lifting i’m now 199lbs. maybe i’m summon up energy to actually do somethin in the gym, since i’ll be gone most of next week on a work trip.

Scoopy, you need to turn that frown upside down!!

You are one of the hero’s of T-Nation powerlifting.
You have an obligation to continually tap into your lifting awesome-ness so that we can continually feel weak in comparison, and strive to better ourselves so that hopefully one day we can lift what you lift.

DUH.

FIST BUMP

thanks spock, not quite a frown i need to turn upside down lol. not sure if i would go that far haha i would say i’m just above being mediocre

looks like another night without eating. no lifting, maybe i’ll just turn skinny and start wearing a straight billed cap and an affliction t-shirt. not really sure i could dislike myself more so hey, why not. maybe i’ll meet some hot girls that way. looks like i’ll be back from my work trip on thursday so hopefully i’ll make it in friday.

do pushups to get swol3

7-16-12 squat day

safety bar, box, warmup- bar, 170, 260
350x1
440x1 belt
530x1 boss briefs, real loose lol
620x3 inzer wraps
650x3
670x3
260x10 box -1

ghr- bw x20
face pulls- 100lb x20x2, suppinated x20
reverse open grip curl- 50lb x15x2

so that’s all, wanted to get a good starting point and i’ll make some small increases like with my raw work. gear was real loose, down to 196lbs. felt good to be back in gym and do something but i’m real sore today and not keeping up on stretching and mobility work has really caught up to me.

you didn’t do the pushups, did you?

Yeah, get back in there slacker! One of my new training partners is named Kyle!

I met one of them (Kyle). It seems the other one might be kind of a douche…

Maybe you could try training like a bodybuilder until you start to miss powerlifting and despise BBing!

7-19-12 bench day

595 wasn’t hard, i haven’t kept up on my mobility work and stretching so my right hip started to hurt pretty good, so i called it good.
