2 day Metabolic Diet

I’ve been hearing alot about some diet book called the two day diet. Apparently you eat low cals (1000 cals.) for 2 days, then on day three you go to regular maintenance levels for a day, before shifting back to the low cal stuff. The idea is that eating low cals creates the negative cal balance that causes weight loss but cutting cals also slows metabolism. So, you shift them back up for a day to keep the furnace stoked, so to speak. This sounds like a really abbreviated version of TC’s DELTA 1250, anyone have any thoughts? Obviously, 1000 cals a day is too extreme, how about 1,500 for couple of days and follow it up with a maintenance cal day? Should I make myself a genea pig and just find out?

Dozer thinks it sounds like a horrible idea for a diet, with calories that low you WILL lose muscle. The idea of flipping between diet and maintenance calories is sound for keeping thyroid function from slowing down but your gonna lose muscle just like your way under eating everyday…only at a much slower pace. You would make far more progress in a slight calorie defecit…only 300 a day below maintenance and you will lose fat but your body is also able to build muscle. try it you’ll be get much leaner as opposed to much smaller.
