Taken two weeks apart - both taken fasting in the AM. I have other blood tests results that I can post after but overall everything else was fairly in line. At first I was bummed out but thought ok now I have the green light to go on HRT and now the second result is way up with no unusual changes other than eating poorly since the first test. I haven’t spoken to the doc about the 2nd test yet.
This is why it is important not to jump into HRT on the basis of one or even two blood test results. Levels can vary quite a bit over time, not just during the course of the day.
I had a test done 4 years ago and was low. Was told it was low normal and i was good to go. Then this time I had 3 tests to make sure. All below normal. I suffered for 4 years because I didn’t know any better. Like Pansee said get another test or 2 if you have to. Just to be sure. Even though I feel good on HRT and I am so happy I feel better it is a pain and its for life. Good Luck
Well I failed to mention that Prolactin level was a little high = 25.3 ng/ml range at lab was 3-18. So now I get to go have an MRI done. Fun.
Before that though I am going to have all the test done again with a few extras on Monday.
ok get this! So apparently Prolactin levels are significantly increased after orgasm. Well… guess what happened before my blood test. About an hour an half before. It’s not that out of the range so maybe this had something to do with it.
My life SUCKED until I got on HRT. Now even though I have to deal with “pins” every week, guess what?, It’s a small thing to deal with to have my life back again. I’ve lost fat, gained muscle, and chase women like I was 25 again, and somedays like I’m 17 again. All the while being able to put my mouth where the money is, makes this 40 something man a man again. I used to be needle phobic too.
Guy, before you take on the HRT…I’;m 64 and using the Alpha Male on the low dose, and it is working. I think anyone questioning themselves about HRT should order the Alpha Male and Flameout. See what hapens, you may be pleasantly surprised.
