In the front relaxed you kept the knees bent slightly which looks better.
On the other poses it looks like you reverted back to straight legs, try and keep them bent a tad.
Thanks for the feedback Tim. I’m doing Physique so will probably not need too much posing. I’m only posing for comparison puposes since that’s what my first pics were. This weekend I’m taking a posing seminar so will probably start taking pics with more Physique type poses.
Just got my bottle of HOT-ROX to give me a little kick. I read and went over the ingredients 3 times to make sure they’re not on the banned list for INBF. I know it was banned before but Biotest must have redone the makeup for HOT-ROX. 2 months ago I even dropped caffeine to reset my system from stimulants. Not sure how Indigo would help me at this point or if it’s allowed.

It’s allowed. I’ve used it in past preps and everything turned out just dandy

How was your experience with Indigo-3G?
Yeah, I’d like to know how it worked out as well. I’m considering adding it.
I liked the I3G. Once I got serious about competing (realizing that I had done relatively well, and wanting to see how far I could go if I really went full bore), anything I figured might give me even a slight benefit, I took a chance with.
Each year I competed, I got further away from the usual gym/bro-science nonsense of chopping carbs way down and doing tons of cardio. Of course as you get closer to your contest date, even the most carb heavy dieter may need to scale back a bit. Banking on the Indigo to allow me to keep my #s fairly high, but still make the best use of what I was downing definitely paid off.
Off course, I like to think that my training and diet were already 100% locked in as I had competed in an earlier show before adding the I3G. I competed in the 2011 Mr. America, placing a very controversial 2nd, but then still having 5 weeks to make enough improvements before my next show that the judges would have but to give me 1st.
Suffice to say, I beat some very impressive gentlemen onstage that day, and was incredibly pleased with the package I brought.
I find myself in a small dilemma. At 8 weeks out, 172 lbs, I’ve lost .5 to 1lb a week, which sounds like a good loss to me. All my lifts have stayed about the same, except maybe my squat max has lowered a bit, but I feel good about my strength, considering I’m 10 lbs down from a few months ago.
I’m happy with my conditioning, seeing new cuts I’ve never seen before. I feel though that I’ve lost size, which was expected, but don’t know how much smaller I want to get with still 8 weeks to go. I’ve never been below 170. Ideally, I would like to be my current size, but of course a little leaner to compete for a top position.
I guess I question on how to peak at the right time. I almost feel like I should spend maybe a week or 2, drop my cardio and increase my carbs and calories to gain a little size back. Currently, I cycle carbs, 100g on low days, 150 normal days and refeed at about 300 carbs 2x week. My calories average 2500 daily, higher on my high carb days, lower on the others. I keep protein at least 200g a day.
It’s nothing to really worry about, but my competitive nature pushes me to be at my best, even in my first competition. I know in Physique there are guys that barely have that much muscle but it’s the top guys I’m really competing with that may have that size. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Welcome to the club… I had the same reservations and thoughts my first time out. EVERYONE is surprised by how “little” they end up weighing to be in contest shape their first time. If you are holding strength on almost all lifts, that is a good sign you are on track and doing well.
I dont know if It would recommend a bump in cals right now… Just focus on being as shredded as possible come show day.
Yeah, I agree with Lonnie. If you’re maintaining your strength and eating sensibly without doing an excessive amount of cardio (sounds like you’ve got both in order), any “size” or weight you drop in the next 8 weeks is going to be bodyfat
The mental games your brain plays on you when you’re dieting to seriously lean levels are crazy at times. I can still vividly recall freaking out backstage at my first contest when I saw the other competitors strip down to weigh in. Luckily my training partner talked me out of just leaving.
You’re looking great Yodaddy, impossible to say who’s gonna show up in physique at your show but I think you’re gonna do really well. Only thing I’d suggest is try your back pose with one hand on your hip and more weight on that leg. You want kind of a swagger in your poses for physique. The way you’re hitting it looks mechanical, kind of a back relaxed bb’ing pose

Thanks for the feedback pwolves. I’ll be looking to improve my posing with more practice.

No problem man! I’m in the same boat. Obviously posing isn’t nearly as involved as in bodybuilding, but you do have to know how to present yourself in the way that looks best for you. Look up some pictures of IFBB physique contests, you’ll see everybody has their own little differences
