You still good mate?
Yea I’m still training, just haven’t been consistent in posting for a while.
Some rows from last week. Top set was 318x8. Had a buddy do some work on my bicep and it feels completely better. My lifting (week) is now over 9 days rather than 7 to give me more rest. And I finally found some stretches that are helping my sciatic nerve pain and don’t want to jynx it but seems like it’s mostly gone.

Also @chris_ottawa you asked about meets. I’m possibly thinking of a wrpf tested meet in December. I wanna get an idea what my numbers would be before I decide. They also don’t have an exact date right now. I’d like to Be aiming for 1800 in sleeves which the weight and reps im doing now should put me very close.
I didn’t know such a thing existed.
You have to travel far or what?
From what I gathered it does. Or at least it’s wrpf and they chose to make it tested. It’s about an hour from my house. It used to be uspa and they changed. Usually I am stuck warming up with non calibrated plates on different bars then the equipment is different on the platform. This place is all the same stuff. I would expect a comp pr pull on my second attempt if I do this meet. Going from stiff bar warm up to deadlift bar throws everything off.
I know you are going to kill it and lift more than 1800!!!
Do guys ever bring in their own bars to warm up on then?
Idk if people do it. I thought about it but the amount of effort to bring the bar and plates in would probably make it not worth it.
Just get ur entourage to lug your shit around.
Haha id feel like an asshole having people bring it in for me
What if you just bring the bar and use the plates they have there? That wold be a lot easier than carrying 700lb of calibrated plates.
Then it will make the pull way too easy and make my comp attempts feel hard. I really need perfect conditions warming up and then good equipment to pull on for the attempts. Then I can do a big pull. I’ve had to pull on a painted piece of plywood before and it’s terrible. I have to push down to pull rather than down and out to avoid slipping. That’s why I’m thinking about wrpf.
Does WRPF have DL bars in the warmup room normally?
Yes. They used to be uspa but switched feds. Kept the same equipment though. That’s where I pulled 750 at just under 189lbs. My best meet to date.
Rough session. Did my lifting an hour earlier than planned cause I buddies step brother wanted to learn how to do the lifts. He had some stuff to do and canceled. Sumo pulled 660x8 then 3 sets of 8 with 410 on squat. Few sets of weighed Pullups and hit conventional up to 552x5. Conventional is pretty good for the fact that I did them for 2-3 months then stopped for 2 months and this is the second time doing them and at the end of the workout too. I’ll add some ig videos tomorrow or so.
Unless he wants to learn how to pull sumo, the lift of the gods, the one true deadlift, then tell him to buzz off
Lol he’s a big Kid, easily curled 110 at 13 years old. He could become pretty good
Next generation of freak powerlifters are coming through now as the sport gets bigger and bigger. I feel like i’ve seen half a dozen 17 year olds pull 300kg/660 lb recently.
