Some recent lifts 677x7 on deadlift Monday and 490x8 on squat today. Squat will be on ig later. Deadlift is already up. Was doing 2 triples on squat before max rep set and a buddy put a plate on the side holder in the way without me realizing it. First rep of the second set I hit it in the hole and the weight instantly dumped over my head. Safeties caught it. Mentally fucked me for my max rep set though. Setup the weight and hit my triple less then a minute later.
Figured I’d mention this since it might be useful to others following. I cut pieces of pvc pipe so I could deadlift with a stiff bar (Texas power bar) and still have the same foot position as the Texas deadlift bar. Just gets rid of the flex. I pull this way on my light deadlift day after max rep squats. 561 on it in the pic for 3 sets of 4.

Time to turn DL bar into elephant bar
Took a break from volume the last week. Pulled 661x9 today and gonna see what I can hit 500 on squat and 315 on bench for Saturday. Last squat day I did 490x9 and bench day 315x8 with most of the volume still there.
Saw those squats in IG the other day and they looked good as always.

I’m doing pretty good thanks. Sciatic nerve is still giving me some problems but not arching on bench until my final set has helped a bit. Just finished my lifts today with no added lighter volume for the last week. Did the 661x9 deadlift (Wed) 501x8 squat and 315x7 bench (Sat). Might have rushed into bench too quick after squat cause it felt very shaky the whole time.
Forgot to mention 501x8 and 661x9 are both 2 rep lifetime pr’s for me. Squatted 575 and pulled 770 in the gym when i peaked off the old rep maxes.
I gotta update some clips on ig. Having some fun this week before starting a new block. Deadlifts felt pretty good and I wanted a taste of heavy weight. Pulled 723x4 pretty smooth. The 675 warm up single was a smoke show. Can’t wait to see what i can hit peaked. Thinking 800 is in the cards. 723 was about 45 lbs heavier than anything I’ve touched in the last 9 months and my legs were pretty sore from 501 max rep squats only 48 hours ago.
So I just looked back at my records, I thought I pulled 720x5 in the past. Turns out I only hit 720x4 so my “unpeaked set with a goal of moving the weight smooth no grinding and no missing a rep” is actually a lifetime best. Man I’m getting excited now.

Any meets on the horizon?
Nothing right now. Hoping I’ll find something maybe closer to fall this year or spring next year. I also need some time to really fill out the 198 class. I keep dipping to low 190s and that’s not good. I’d like to sit at 200 for the next year or so.
Threw a little extra weight on squat yesterday and did 526x4 leaving a grindy rep in the tank. Overall pretty happy. Other than last week’s 501 set I have only squatted up to 490 the last 9 months. And this beats my best ever comparable sets in the past of 515x4 and 525x3 which was everything I had on those sets. The 525x3 was a few weeks before my last meet where I cut to 181 and squatted 560 in sleeves so I’ve gotta be close to 600 coming in without cutting. I’ll post a video in a day or two.
