Its not all about where you start. I pulled 405 my first time deadlifting but vinnie out pulls me by a ton lol
405 your first time? Oh F*&% you…
haha but actually I am curious, what did you do before you started lifting weights? Sports, manual labor, hiking, etc? I worked on a ranch myself, and I think that is largely why I have never had any issues with grip strength, wonder if something you did just trained ya in a way that would make you strong as hell on the deadlift
Rec league T-ball, basketball in 2nd grade. Basically nothing. Every other lift was pretty pathetic. I basically onlybbenched for about a year as my only lifting prior to getting into a more well-rounded routine.
And you still pulled 405 your first time?
I hate you…
(Seriously impressive though)
Was out hunting yesterday from 2-end of daylight and underestimated how cold it was going to be with the light rain and wind. Was already a bit sick woke up feeling a little worse. Hit the gym after a long work day and lifted decent for how I feel. Definitely lost some top end power and a good amount of endurance.

Long day at work then went hunting before hitting the gym. The rut is on and I’m pushing for a big buck. Had a good one come in three Mondays in a row to a stand I would have been in and I’m stuck in class at that time. May dial back the heavy work on deadlifts. Max variation Every week is fairly rough. Had a mean cramp in my pec on my Max single today. The last two days I barely drank water I will be forcing it tomorrow.
Stiff bar paused deadlift

Didn’t get to post yesterday cause I was so busy. Did some bench I’ll put up a video probably tonight. Today just got squats and deadlift speed work. Speed work is now bumped up to 625

Should I retire this thread for a new goal? Next step is going for 1800+ at 181 in wraps with an 800+ pull drug free. What do you guys think.
You could just change the thread name. That way its easier to go back through your log etc if you need to find anything and dont have to make a new one.
I second what Duke said ^
Thread has been updated. Now it’s time to make the push to get on the same level as the best in the world. Did some close grip bench today, Slingshot, some incline Db press and barbell rows.

Do you have a coach? I think i’ve seen you mention that someone does your programming but was wondering if you have anyone help out with more than that?
If not could be worth considering, but i guess if your lifts keep going up then theres no need to change anything.
I kind of do. He’s a friend of mine that gave me basic platform of a program that I picked variations and assistance work for. For the most part my progress has come from just lifting consistently and pushing myself daily. If I could get into legit programs it may be what I need to make it to the next level. It’s hard for me because I like to go off of feel and some days I don’t want to do what a program calls for. I have however managed to get certain lifts planned for certain days so I guess it’s a start.
your triceps are insane. Heck everywheres pretty good mate!
I remember reading somewhere on here that you dont follow a diet and just eat whatever you like?, is that still the case man?. If so thats one thing you need to consider if you want to reach higher levels.
Thanks and yea I have take out for lunch everyday during the week and usually at on the weekends at some point. I should change that but it’s so hard to find the extra time. Also I don’t know how that would effect my bodyweight. I’m maintaining low 190s eating like shit. If I clean it up id be afraid of drop into the 180s again where u may or may not keep the strength I’ve gained from going up a few lbs
Kind of messed up a bit more that I’m thinking about it. I have class tomorrow which means my lifting we be cut short so I should have benched today. Instead I high bar squatted and did some heavy back extensions holding tight at the top.
High bar squats
135x8, 225x8, 315x3, 405x2, 465x1, 495x1
Back extensions
75x6, 125x6, 175x6, 225x6
Fairly easy day. Probably could have doubled the 495 but would have took some effort.
