After my carb up yesterday I was at 248, so I think I still have a pretty good chance of competing around 240 which was my original goal. All of my lifts are maintaining on my heavy days, all I notice is instead of getting 5 or 6, I get 3 or 4.
Probably the low carbs. Vacularity is really kicking in now. Legs, lower abs, arms, and chest are all starting to show some nice veins. I am feeling good about where I am going to be with 3 more weeks to go!
I have been following your log as you prepare to win your Pro Card in a few more weeks. Congratulations. Your training and contest prep has been excellent.
I will step onto the stage in one week to compete in my first Pro Show, the 2007 NGA Olympic Gold Junior Pro Bodybuilding Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah.
If you are interested, you can take a look at my log on this site (Bodybuilding) “Training For My First Pro Show at 64.”
Part 1 of my 18 week journaey comes to an end this weekend. I feel pretty good about where I am at. I weighed 240 after my final workout today. I am anxious to hit the stage. This weekend is a pro qualifier in Des Moines, then I am doing a smaller show in Omaha next week since it is in my hometown.
I am not sure I am pro level, but I gave it my best and I will get pics from the show ASAP afterwards!
Not as good as I had wanted to look. Hope it comes through better on stage after I carb up and stop drinking. But, I did my best…My best just may not have been good enough…

You look pretty good to me. Compare pictures from your last contest. You have made some great improvements. It would have been good to see your legs in the other picture to compare.
Good luck this weekend and hopefully you will be dialed in!
I failed to place this weekend. My conditioning was off and I totally missed my peak. I looked great about 15 minutes before going out and terribly smooth on stage.
I am putting up a picture we took outside before the night show. Close to the best I looked all day.
Luckily I am competing again this week so I will have a chance to learn from last week and fix it this week. I tried to change my water protocol and my carb up based upon some other things I have been reading lately and it messed me up.
This week I am going to just completely dry out instead of trying to keep my water intake up and do my carb up day a little differently and see if that addresses my problems from last week.
Thanks for the compliments. I am done competing in bodybuilding for this year at least…at least I think I am. I need to turn my focus now to my first Strongman Competition in July and then a Powerlifting meet in August. I am looking forward to getting back and knocking around some heavy weight and eating some junk food again!
I didn’t get the pro card this time, but maybe someday!
