Hi everyone,
Want to share pics, I took today at the gym. I’ve been at 17in. for a few months now since I haven’t had much time to working out b/c of college but recently I’ve put more time in the gym and this is the result.

Hmm, you got that separation from the bicep and delt. Seeing your pic gives me hope.
That’s what I do as well and I find it better in a number of ways as well.
Yeah it just makes sense to eat that way. Eat more when your body wants to use those nutrients to repair itself.

Good thread man, helps put shit in perspective for us guys on a bulk. Perhaps I missed them but what were some of your maxes at 260 as opposed to now?
Let’s see.
This was 2 days ago at 213 lbs and it wasn’t a set done to failure.
Here’s me at 260
When I was heavier I don’t have video but my deadlift was 435 x 3 back in the time frame of the beggining of this thread.
This was 4 weeks into my diet:
That’s all I got really, but everything is up considerabley especially weighing almost 50lbs less. I’ve benched 405 at 235 lbs. I’ll be working up to reps with 385-405 hopefully within 12 weeks or so on this powerlifting routine I am doing so I’ll keep everyone posted.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re hitching that 605. If you keep with that form for max efforts then you are going to blow out a disc in spectacular fashion. I’m not nitpicking or trying to detract from your lifts, you are strong regardless, I’m just offering some advice that if someone else I know had listened to, they might have saved themselves 18 months of rehab and temporary paralysis.
Great work though, keep it up.
Yeah I am well aware of it bro…it’s a work in progress, I have been doing defecit deadlift solely, off a 6 inch box to help me focus on getting my legs into the lift.

You want to work on your lower back strength so you don’t round in the initial part of the lift. That, IMO, is whats setting you up into the hitch position. Do you do any good mornings? If not I would reccomend you learn those, and start with a low weight so you dont injure yourself. You should be able to work up fairly quickly at your level of strength. Another good exercise is the romainian deadlift, done slowly and for reps with a reasonable weight. Work both of those in once a week each (after you get good, you can do them pretty frequently with low weight when you’re learning) and some speed work and 600 will be flying up, and probably 650.
Austin, brother, that is a strong DL. But your lower back was rounded the entire time. Freeze it at 00:20 and tell me that doesn’t make you cringe. I’m all for adding weight to the bar, but dammit you’re taking a lot of risk.
I’m Officially 18 inches…
when your measuring your arms are they relaxed(straight) or flexed(bent)

nice to see you maturing in your opinions a bit…well ahead of the curve of most young guys. Your strength level is pretty damn incredible but take it from someone who toatlly wrecked their spine…please be careful with the sloppy form. I have trained realtively injury free for 30 years. Just this year i hernitated a disc doing stupid shit…in the c4/c5 area…the next morning (yes overnight) my pec on the right side was just hanging and my right tricep appeared almost unrecognizeable. The nerve damage casue SEVERE atrophy in the arm and pec. My arms have not been under 21" in 15 years now that arm is barely 19"…i have ZERO strength…cannot even recruit that arm/pec. I am waiting to have an MRI this month (they could not do it right away due to extensive fresh tattoo work). But i am probably looking at a disc fusion and likely will be years before i can train at 100% again. Just a fair piece of advice from a guy that has been there. It can happen in a split second and change your life…FAST

Damn dude, I wish you a speedy recovery and appreciate you chiming in. Something I am definitely working on…I love the heavy weights and will always be hitting the compounds but I am definitely realizing that maintaining good form is very important just for longevity’s sake. Again, I hope you recover fast…must be a bummer, but muscle memory FTW and I am sure you will be back in action sooner than you think. I notice a lot of guys that stay physically fit recover from injuries much faster than your average Joe.

i like the scruffy look…Have a beard trimmer that has a scruff attachment. otherwise my face has looked babyish in the past too although it’s more masculine now that I am leaner and have a little more jaw definition…lol
