18 Inch Arms

I just took a new picture yesterday cold.
The posing could have been A LOT better, but it is very hard when you have to hold your iphone at the same time and you cant really see any definition or veins. Oh well
What do you guys think? I think my chest still needs a lot of blasting.
I am going to try one-and-a-half rep bench presses, anyone tried those before? Do they work well for mass? And then do them 10 sets of 6-7 reps or something like that  Or if anyone have another good exercise they wanna share…

I remember ProfX saying that guys that progressed fast (you have been at it for 18months) and had really big arm compared to their forarm were on roids.

just saying

Thanks man  I try to limit strap-use to only the really hard sets. But I have just begun train forearms directly and often now. They are only 14.5 inches cold though, but I think they will be alot bigger soon, hopefully
But my forearms have always been much weaker than anything else. I think its because I never do much physical stuff outside the gym.

Unfortunately, you’re not “just saying”. You’re throwing around accusations based on a Professor X anecdote, of which you seemed to not entirely understand. And with this accusation you’re trying to discount the work mrhamper has put in.

I sure as hell was NOT referring to you or anyone like you when I wrote that. I am not sure why people still think steroids are necessary to reach an 18" arm. Basically, if you can’t do that naturally, your genetics suck for this so competitions shouldn’t even be a concern for you unless you are EXTREMELY short or just like wasting your time.

WTF??? I believe i am a candidate for a big arms and smaller forearms. I use no steroids/ prohormones. Its all about how you train and how weird your genetics are. At a narrow 6’3" and with a 6’4 armspan, it is really hard to build the forearms up because of the length of the levers and short muscle belly in comparison with its tendon. However, i do eat babies so maybe that causes the wierdness…

duhast, your forearms are lookin solid in your avatar man. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

and red04, thanks a lot man. Back training is definitely a love of mine. Gotta get the “show” muscles up to par though (delts, bis, tris, primarily). And legs… they’re just another beast to tackle, ha.

Keep it going fellas.

I realize you’re just trolling the forum, but why misquote someone?

Like many other veteran lifters, PX believes that lifters with heavily developed upper arms (AND rest of the body obviously) and relatively small forearms took AAS RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE when they started training hard, instead of building a size and strength base naturally first, by working up to handling/holding heavy enough weight to stimulate their muscles.

Thats nowhere near what you just said.

I agree with Prof X on this topic but you don’t fall into this chategory. Your forarms are fine.

Agreed, plus, I was referring to people way more developed than most in this thread. If I see some guy near my size with tiny forearms despite arms that would need a strength level capable of curling close to or more than 100lbs in each hand to reach naturally, I am going to assume he used steroids very early on his development. I am also going to assume his arm strength does not correlate directly with his strength level.

Just in case I get misquoted in the future, few people here are developed to the degree that I was speaking of.
