Great job man. I got the same stats as you (6’2, 225), but my arms are much smaller =(

LOL!
Had to bump.
Just measured right on the dot 17" cold. Up from 12" or so when I first started training last September. Growth has really accelerated these past two months since I started hitting them 2x a week.
I guess gaining 70ish pounds will do that though!

Damn 5 inches in a little over a year? Nice job!

OK, another one. Picture taken today, 17" exactly, cold. 6’0", 195 lbs, probably 15% bf, if I had to guess. I have to disagree with the 2.35 times your wrist circumference remark I saw earlier, because with my 7.1" girly wrists, that gives me a ratio of 2.4, and I’ve been very lazy with the gym as of late (getting back into it for a week now, though), and I don’t look huge, just maybe athletic. So, depending on the person’s proportions, 18+" seems very possible, given decent genetics and dedication.

It’s not that impressive when you take into account how small I started out as, having some muscle memory from when I was 170 or so as a gymnast (was 150ish when I started out), and that I probably have at least decent genetics.
I feel like I could have done better as there were a few months over the summer that I kind of stagnated.

Well, still, 12" to 17" is a bona fide transformation from pencilneck to quasi-bodybuilder. Freakin’ a, dude, good job! Too bad 17" to 22" transition doesn’t happen that easy, except maybe if you’re scarfing down a dozen Big Macs a day.

I really don’t know what mine measure right now, but they were close to 18 inches a while back.
I’ll be joining a gym this weekend and i’ll start working out hard again, after just basically maintaining what I have with limited options lifting at home.
Nice arm development.
That being said, this isn’t SAMA, put on some damn clothes, lol

Unless you’re arthur jones, of course. He had to do it differently so that he could claim that people lie about their arm size big time.[/quote]
No, he did measure them flexed. I can’t imagine where you get that.
Just wondering, do you think Jones Photoshopped the pic of Oliva with the tape measure around his flexed arm right at the 20" mark? Or is it just an illusion and the arm really is unflexed?
Pro bodybuilders and bb’ing magazines DO routinely lie about arm size, rather as porn stars routinely lie about their penis size. Nobody has to do anything differently to make their claims untrue.

I agree that many of these measurements are made up on the spot. In fact, very often these guys will gives their off season measurements when they are carrying another inch or two on those arms as if they measure the same in contest shape.
I don’t, however, put much stock into Jones’ measurements either. I truly feel that where some people exaggerate, he may have pulled that tape even tighter to make these guys seem smaller. That is simply my opinion and here is one reason why; because of Jones, you actually have people who believe that 20" simply could not be achieved as if Sergio was the epitome of that measurement.
I’ve stood next to Idrise Ward-el and the man has arms that look insane up close…and I wasn’t small myself back then. They had to have been about 22" or more even if he did lose some size when dieting.
Sergio’s arms look like legs. I simply have a hard time believing they were ONLY 20" at the peak of his development. Maybe he was measured right after a contest when he was really flat. I would have to have been there to actually believe that.

Thanks.
Yeah, sorry. I should have blacked some of it out, huh?
Congrats to all you who have reached your arm race goals. I remember an old Cube song where he talked about his arms being 16" back when I was in HS and I thought. man I wish my arms were that big…funny how things have changed since then.
The photo of Sergio has the tape at no abnormal tightness.
He was very lean in the pic, much leaner than most bb’ers are out of competition, but Sergio often or usually was.
Now THESE days a lot of guys genuinely are over 20" even in contest condition. It’s much more readily possible to be that size when way over 200 lb. But those days, generally not, when in a lean walking-around (non-contest) condition.
But in “full house” condition, that is to say with some substantial smoothness, I’m sure a number were over 20" off-season. But fat-inflated measurements really should not count.

How’s it goin?
Just did a progress pic. I’ve been hitting 17 5/8" (I’ll take every 1/8th I can get) pretty consistently (cold). That’s just over a half-inch since Nov. 08.
I’m finding it harder to consume the calories I need-- my appetite has been up and down. I think I’m around 4000 cal on good days. Trying to work on that and have added some more volume to hopefully crank the appetite a little more. Strength numbers are still increasing, so that’s good.
Haven’t seen my abs in awhile, but I know they’re there-- I got 'em tucked away for a few more years-- they’re not going anywhere. Easier to shed the fat than to put on the quality mass…
16 3/4 cold… 17 1/4 pumped.
