there is this chart in our school where it says 8 reps 5 reps 5 reps 3 rep 3 reps and than til failure so all together 6 sets, the weight changes, of course. I got results that were pretty good its just that im wondering if the heavy sets are going to work even better.

Obviously this heavy lifting is working for you. [/quote]
In heavy lifting you mean 4 to 6 reps. i havent done that before i only go by a chart in school sets: 6//reps: 8 , 5 ,5 , 3, 3 ,till failure.
alright um honestly if you want the best gains have one set where you try to get more reps or more weight start off with a weight you can only do for 4-5 and turn it into 9-10 and repeat
the other sets can just be to make sure you are realy working the muscles
this is the easiest way to make progress
what can you bench and deadlift?

bench 225
deadlift i dont rember
well now i feel weak. But yes heavier weights for sets will get you stronger.
Yeah, low reps and sets with above and about 90% load will make you very strong. Probably, at 15 years old you will make fast and huge gains, BUT, Russian studies showed that early strength and muscle development will cause often overtraining and plateuing in the future, and yes it will screw you up a little bit because at that age you need hormones for some more important stuff to grow. I would wait until your muscles and body will be mature (around 18 years old). Meanwhile I would do “Naked Warrior.” Do bodyweight and combat stuff. This makes you strong too, plus its very functional.

can more peoples make a statement about this so i can make a decision.
What are you talking about. look at all the good wrestlers the ones who think the body weight is the only thing they need are never as good as the ones who lift weights.
What i mean by this is you can lift weights. you dont want to get killed on the field b/c you decided it was good to do a push up(75% of your bodyweight) or a bench press of 100% of your body weight? your choice.

It’s ok for you to lift heavy at 15. I’m a sophmore who just turned 16 and I’ve been lifting decently heavy sice spring of 8th grade and heavy since spring of 9th grade. I’m 5’10, 190 lbs. You are a lot stronger than me though.

this thread is a joke. All you idiot football players care about is how much you lift. Yeah, go ahead and lift heavy if you have some experience. Learn some English while you’re at it, on top of the strength and conditioning material you should be reading.
