I don’t know why you’re directing this toward me. Thinking that a 280 pound squat is “MASSIVE” proves you’re a troll. Why is anyone taking this kid seriously?
First off, I’d like to point out that it’s a common misconception that Napoleon was short. If I remember correctly he was about 5’6’’ which at the time was actually above average. I think the point with the “Napoleon complex” is that he felt small and week, and felt he had to do something to compensate for it whether he actually was or not. I do believe that applies to some weight lifters that always see themselves as small no matter how large they are. I know because I’m guilty of it to a large extent.
Also, I would dispute Livefromthe781’s claim that bodybuilders are bigger even if you exclude the fat that powerlifters carry. Most powerlifters (at least the top guys) carry very low body fat percentages. Even in the heavy weights you see guys like Mendelson who’s 320 and 8%bf. If you do the math he probably has more or at least as much muscle as guys like Coleman. Now I will agree that many powerlifters don’t look as muscular because of how they are structured (thick hips, mid section, est.), but they aren??t smaller.
I never claimed I wasn’t Bob Saget. Actually, a few times I’ve claimed I was Bob Saget.

That is where I was going with my questions.
OP - eat more, lift heavy, stay committed, learn lots and enjoy the quest.

No, it proves that he has lack of perspective. If everyone at your gym is doing quarter squats with 225, then 280 atg seems huge. He directed it at you because you called him on the numbers being in lbs and kgs before.

If you can’t see this for what it really is, then that is your problem. This kid already started a thread about being 135 pounds of steel saying he can’t gain weight. In another thread he states it’s extremely easy for him to push himself in the gym and eat all the right foods. Doesn’t that sound a little contradictory?
Edit: And who lives in Colorado who measures their deadlift in pounds, their squat in kg, and spells strength without the r? Then he defined “stength” as:
"Stength: So Awesome and strong that strength is too weak of a word to even hold the correct meaning. This is the final definition. "

You think this kid is legit?
I thought we agreed to revert back to my original definition of ‘stength’?
Stength - n. Strength that is so poor, it actually stinks.
Forgot to mention, if you aren’t a troll… then 440 lb dl in 6 months is very good considering your weight. That’s about 20 lbs over 3x bw. I’m 90% sure you are either a troll or inflated your numbers, but if not great job.

I hadn’t seen the other threads. I’m still willing to grant him legit but retarded.
At ~5ft8" to be a top Powerlifter you’d probably weigh around 198-220lb, get eating :)
I’m 5’8" I plan on topping out at 242.
Powerlifting is a short mans sport. If I weigh as much as a guy who’s several inches higher then me, I’m probably carrying more muscle mass then him, and ultimately strength.

IPF World Records for junior (<23y.o.)men (I guess you’re male)
Squat = 300kg (~661lb)
Bench Press = 207.5kg (~457lb)
Deadlift = 277.5kg (~611 lb)
Those are MASSIVE lifts. But the lifters would probably be much shorter than you.

Maybe I just don’t know any better. But I 100% believe that I could hit those numbers way before I turn 23. Hasn’t Mega Newb hit over 700 in the squat?
Again, maybe I just don’t know any better, but those seem easily attainable by a lot of people.
chitown34 wrote:

eh, I’m massively fucking skinny at ~190. We’ll see. I think I need at least 50 more pounds before I’m going to feel like a big man. I want to graduate highschool at a lean 200. And graduate 4 year college at 240 lean.

Yeah, but at 132? Those numbers listed above are for junior men in the 132 weight class. At that size those numbers are massive and certainly not easily attainable.

Ok, that makes a ton more sense.
And yes, those numbers are way more massive now that I know it’s at 132.

I’m pretty sure that the all time biggest squat is 1250.
It was done by a super heavy in a multi-ply, untested fed, so it’s not really comparable to the average lifter, or the IPF records. (but since we were talking about massive lifts, I thought I’d throw that out there)

you seem ecto, so if youre at that weight/height now i honestly doubt youd be 240@5’8 thats like off-season bodybuilder weight for that height.
