12 Yr Olds Using

Here we go again!

Of course there are no facts here (numbers of 12yr olds using!).

“Steroids can make the testicles wither and cause sterility”

I like how they throw that random sentence out there.

Anyway, looks like this is bad news for those in the UK. I’m sure the legal status is going to change.

I’d be willing to bet more 12 year olds use/abuse alcohol than steroids. Perhaps they should make that illegal as well.

Not in reference to this particular one as I didn’t look into it, but in general for this sort of thing:

There are those out there who are not any sort of quality researchers who either have an agenda, wish to make a “splash,” or both, and they love doing provocative “survey studies.”

There was one a number of years back that I did look into that actually claimed that, as an approximate figure as I don’t recall exactly, 1 in 20 middle school and junior high school girls used anabolic steroids. This got a big splash in the national media.

It’s of course obviously false on the face of it.

A key factor making this bad “research” is the inevitable, for this sort of thing, failure to establish control levels of inaccurate reporting. For example, a legit study would include questions regarding things that either don’t exist or which it is known for a fact see extremely rare use, or both, and it is observed what percentage of respondents then – falsely – claim to use those substances.

For example if 1 out of 20 girls answering the survey claims to have taken “Methyl-Rave” (there is no such thing) then similar percentages claimed for actual drugs would be considered unmeaningful.

The fact is, some percentage of kids answering surveys like picking shocking answers. Some percentage of adults do this as well. Most such “studies” are complete garbage.

From memory tobacco was pretty highly abused when I was about that age (not by me).

It occurs to me that they may have just asked the kids.
Creatine = steroids.
Potein = steroids.
etc…?

Well, yes, definitely. It’s about inconceivable they would have done blood tests or any analytical method to validate the results. That would be real science instead of a survey “study.”

I took a type of steroid cream when I was 12 to help clear some nasty skin condition I had.

Birth control (specifically progesterone, I had in mind) is a type of steroid. Girls at a very young age start taking birth control to alleviate harsh pre-menstrual side-effects.

Does this justify the notion that millions and millions of teenagers and pre-teenagers are “on roids” ? Blasphemous! Of course not.

young girls also start taking birth control because they are getting sluttier and sluttier younger and younger. It seems. anywho… Who cares, right?

“This stuff isn’t being used just by people who want to be athletes, but by people who want to be in boy bands”

…Yeah, everyone knows Justin Timberlake is on dem roids…

Who the fuck writes this shit? And what dumbass of an editor let it get through?

Where were all these slutty 12 year olds 5 years ago when I was 12? Everyone talks about them, but there only seems to be one in every school…

And she’s always the richest and whitest girl there. The Irony is lovely.

I was saying they get like that younger and younger. I remember when I was 12 if a guy and girl pecked on the cheek it was embarrassing, but I have a little sister who is 13 and I can’t believe some of the stuff they do and talk about. Oh man. I just have to say, I never once at the age of 12 gave anyone a hand job. I’ll just say that. Seems thats kind of the norm these days.

Neither did I. In fact, call me prude, but I’m 32 and I have still never given anybody a hand job.

Not even yourself?
