10x3?

in my secondd week, many psots said the sweat was pouring off them–i’m sweating, but pouring off ? following program exactly, maybe need more weight ?
also, is this program o.k. for a 59 yr. old in decent shape.

Yes, as long as your joints or connective tissues are not bothering you.

Definitely, provided that your joints are fine (like someone else mentioned above) and you do not have hypertension. Lifting at high weights for low reps is asking for trouble if you do.

thanks,
joints are fine and no hypertension (whatever that has to do with it :o)

Mike - I take it you are asking if sweat should be “pouring” off your body because someone else reported that they had experienced it. The answer is No, not necessarily - different people are going to sweat more or less, etc. Don’t assess your body’s reactions to a program based on others - every body is different and you will need to adjust to suit yours.

Should you use more weight? While not an expert on the 10x3 program, I would say that a good basic protocol for any program is to start with VERY manageable weights and cycle up as you go - you can always add more weight (slowly, over time), but it only takes a few sessions of over-work to ruin a cycle and set you back considerably.
Good luck and let us know how the 10x3 works for you.

I didn’t sweat very bad at all when I was doing the 10x3. You’re supposed to use your 5rm for all the sets.

Yea, I didn’t really sweat that much either…TBT was murderous on me though for that.

Teddy,
i started using 75 % of 1rm–is that the same as 5rm?
also, i cannot skip rope so i simulate it with 1 hand and a rope. shoot is that tough!! i could not do 12 min. so i started 1 min on and 1 min off.
i still feel kinda guilty only working with weights twice per week.
thanks for all the responses
Mike
