I’ve been on 100mg/week (50mg x 2) and my recent lab results at between injection at that dose was
Testosterone: 822ng
SHBG: 51
Calc free test: 143
E2 19
I noticed that the day before next injection I’ve always felt the best. I decided to lower my dose recently to 40mg x 2 per week. So On my second injection of the lowered dose, I noticed I am much more tired in the morning and evenings. I am now on week 1.5 and feeling fatigued and my strength has gone down a noticeable amount at the gym. Why is this? Do I need to wait 4-6 weeks to restabilize?
It’s best usually to wait or else you will never know the lab impact of a lower dose. I am going through the same thing lowered my dose from 108 a week to about 92 and I think I felt better at 108 mg a week. But I am forcing myself to wait another couple of weeks. Total of 4 weeks.
Btw take your blood pressure. I think mine went up slightly with the decrease in t. It’s either that or me stopping the slow release Cialis. I switched to the regular immediate release 5.5 mg Cialis. Daily.
My rationale is that I feel better close to injection day. My SHBG is a bit high. Should I actually do high dose of 100mg once a week (something I just read).
Correct, you reach a stable state after 4-6 weeks, within this window the protocol change will start showing results. The first couple of month my body was going through an adjustment period. It doesn’t seem like your doctor is bothering to monitor and manage estrogen, a bad sign.
How long have you been on TRT? If your within the first year you have longer to go before realizing the full benefits. Your body will continue to see benefits beyond 1 year continuing up to 2 years.
The higher your SHGB usually requires a bigger T dose taken less frequently.
When was your last blood tests? Do you know your HCT, E2, prolactin?
If I had an SHGB of 50 I’d be doing one shot a week starting with 100mg for 40 days then do a short list blood test for TT,FT, E2 SHGB,to see if it has gone down, and HCT. If E2 and HCT is in check I go up to 120mg/wk again 1 shot per week. Rince and repeat sooner or later you will hit a T level where your HCT and E2 will no longer be in range.
I have similar SHBG Between 50-70 (sometimes, usually around 50)
80 mg a week just wasn’t cutting it for me. I had tried 50mg a week but I had some e2 issues so I lowered to 90 a week and I feel great.
We would need e2 labs though, so get a better idea. Probably though, your not getting enough free test. If your not having E2 symptoms at 50mg twice a week, id only lower it a slight bit.
Did you mean .40ml? If so, that’s a lot per week, so maybe that’s why you’re seeing the high E2. I’ve been taking 100mg per week or .50ml per week of 200mg/ml vile. But switched to 80mg or .40ml per week.
After two weeks of 80 per week, got my labs and it was higher than when I was on 100mg. 900’s vs 800’s. My dumb doc wants to put me on 50mg week now and says he wants to see 400’s on my day of injection. Time to find another doc. But why do you guys think I got an increase?
Why don’t you inject 40mg twice-weekly so your levels are stable and not fluctuate so much? I don’t know about you but I would rather my levels were stable fluctuating as little as possible.
I don’t think doctors have a clue that when you’re levels fluctuate, you feel every bit of it.
Yes that’s what I did. During the past several years I was on 50mg twice a week and in the last couple of weeks lowered to 40mg twice a week and actually received higher numbers in test.
