1000 Pound Club

solid post Give Er, sex is fun and not for sweaty fatties

Just go for it. Stick an extra 5 pounds each on your deadlift and squat. Be ambitious and psych yourself up for it, then just go do it. If you don’t get it, who cares? Try again in a month or so if you fail. People massively underplay the amount of weight they can take on the deadlift (not so much on squats). Just back yourself.

Because having a 1000 lb total is difficult to get to and takes up all of your free time.

/Sarcasm

I’m calling troll? Or maybe just hot abz?

I hope your referring to the post about Rhodetown. Not the 1000 lbs. total…

2 years ago I guess I was in this club but is it really that impressive?

@ 194lbs I did 490 squat 305 bench and 385 dead lift

@ 190lbs now 2 years later I only do 450 squat, 250 bench and 300 dead lift (yeah yah i know… i never train this)

So even after not really working out for 2 years I’m still there…

IMHO its a decent goal to shoot for, but you’d be better off setting #'s for each specific lift and go from there.

im going for the lift in about a week, my back is still sore from the last time i deadlifted 405, going for 415 and getting into the 1000 pound club at 176

No. When your big three total 1000lbs, you will be a 1000lbs lifter.[/quote]

I never would’ve guessed.

You should go tell Westside this. They’ll be so happy.

A 1,000 lb total isn’t that impressive. It’s just a nice introductory goal for someone just getting into powerlifting, and a stepping stone for moving on to bigger weights.

By your idiotic post, it appears so.

I don’t need to. They already know it.

1000 lbs is a respectable total. If you’re in the 132 lb class, if not eat , lift, and get stronger ,

I agree. If you’re 180 lbs, what’s respectable?

I’d shoot for 1200 raw as pretty decent at 181. Back in the day we only had supersuits and got app 60 lbs from them. So think 450- 275- 475 raw. Old school numbers and gear would put you at class two out of the 4 3 2 1 master and elite. You’d be strong for your average gym and for an athlete.

Class one would eom you some meets back in the day. Master would qualify you for teenage and collegiate nationals. You have to ve at elite got the big boy championships in the old uspf. Adfpa was about a master’s total. 1642 was elite back the btw .

I never compared myself pound for pound back then, just at what class I was and how much to the next one.
