Nutrition for today:
No, I still haven’t fixed my fat goal.
You guys have more Indians, percentage-wise. There’s Indian places everywhere in the US, even in Virginia where I’m at there are a bunch, but there are so many other equal or larger ethnicities that it’s nothing special. Plus, the refusal of the Brits to properly use spices despite invading the world for them probably makes the curries seem extra yummy in comparison.
Dude what are you doing to get so much protein in? Mind giving us a food diary entry?
Blasphemy! Avocados are proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy!
I’m not a big fan of avacados either but I find they pair really well with egg whites like in a sandwich or breakfast wrap.
Yesterday was largely protein shakes, because it was a long work day. Mostly it’s meat and protein shakes. When I do today’s, I’ll throw the front page up too.
Funny thing, I really like malaysian and japanese curry, but i have an aversion for certain types of indian curry.
Yeah, it would be nice to see where you get the proteins. Sometimes it’s a struggle to reach 170g protein, although admittedly I eat way too much carbs.
Really? I’m also pretty high-carb but I’m often knocking on the door of 170g before dinner.
If high-protein milk exists where you are that’s a decent help. Breakfast is cereal, pre/postworkout is a bagel with ham/egg/spinach and a protein shake respectively, late lunch is a salad with lean meat or fish and that generally has me sitting around 160g with a meal to go.
My stomach doesn’t agree with cow’s milk but I do drink soymilk. I usually don’t reach 170g when I skip meat for a meal or two.
To be fair, Indian Currys in Britain are probably quite different from those found in India.
Meat and shakes, mostly. I’ll post an overview of my normal eating later when I do today’s diary. I feel like people are looking for a secret to get their protein up and I think I’m likely to disappoint on that front.
Funny you should say that because Indian curry is different in Aus to the UK. That’s the one thing my misses misses !!!
People slam chicken tikka masala for being pretty basic and non-authentic. No-ones slams it for not being tasty though, especially mopped up with a good naan or two.
[raises hand]
It’s pure shite.
Strongly disagree, and slightly question your taste
Edit: in all honesty, I rarely have curry, and would usually have a Rogan josh or something when I do.
Nutrition for today:
Little lower protein today, no shake day, and dinner is light on meat because little man will definitely eat a fair amount of my chicken.
General overview of food (when I’m staying on plan):
Normal work day:
Breakfast: oats, with fruit and 1 or 2 scoops of protein
Throughout the day:
2 double shakes made with water, handful of nuts, few pieces of fruit, sometimes cold meat if calories allow.
Dinner:
3-400g meat, 100-150g carbs, usually some “extra” veggie protein source (beans/pulses), vegetation.
“Late” days (I sometimes have to work a late, as part of my contract):
Breakfast: as above
Lunch: usually a smaller version of dinner. Otherwise I’ll cheat a bit and have something like eggs and beans on toast, usually with extra meat and some fruit
Dinner: as above
Kiddy days:
Breakfast: sometimes oats, usually double shake, nuts and fruit.
Lunch: similar to dinner, usually cut carbs way down and increase veg or meat.
Dinner: as above, typically with less carbs, if reasonable.
Post workouts:
Whatever I feel like, within reason. Depending on motivation/planning and whether I’ve had to bribe myself to complete the workout. Pretty much mix and match with “meat in bread” (burgers, sausages in a bun, etc.), toast, protein shakes and whatever crap, sugary food we have in the house.
Do you meal prep the chicken and salmon for the whole week?
I usually prep all the dinners for a week in advance. I wouldn’t prep salmon though, that will be fresh.
Anything that suffers with reheating or just takes too much space in the fridge/freezer is reheated. Rice, for example, I’d never bother prepping.
