10 Miles Back Again

I admire your discipline of eating chicken breasts 5 days a week.

I find oats with protein way too sweet. I also like my oatmeal savory, topped with boiled eggs.

I’ve seen an example of savoury oats with pancetta and porcini that sounds delicious, but I’ve yet to try it.

I don’t. I usually eat the same meal up to 6 days in a row, but it’s definitely not always chicken breast. Luckily I usually enjoy my cooking pretty well, however sometimes I fuck it up. Nothing worse than knowing you’ve got to eat the same crap meal for 4 more days.

Had to google this one and it definitely looks good. I’ve been watching UK cooking shows lately in Netflix and you guys seem to have a very diverse food culture.

Still admirable man, I usually get sick of it by the 3rd day.

Our own food culture is fairly tedious, but also we also have a lot of different cultures here (colonialism being what it is). Both play a part.

That looks very appetizing. How much carbs is on that?

Close to 0 I’d imagine, there’s no deliberate carbs in there.

Myfitnesspal says 7g, but the veggie portions are estimated very vaguely so it won’t be too accurate. There’s probably a few sources in the sauce as well that I didn’t log

But Thai curry tho - Bangkok Duck.

I made a Thai duck tamarind curry once from a cook book I can no longer find. It was genuinely the best curry I’ve ever had. Genuinely gutted I couldn’t find the recipe again. I’ve even rebought the book I thought it was in, hoping to find it, with no joy.

Not sure if I’ve tried thai curry exactly but damn, sounds good. All this food talk makes me hungry, dang!

So yesterday was a big fat nope. Fallen to plague season so nutrition will be whatever I can get down and keep down, training will mostly involve staying upright

Remind me not to cross the pond during this time of year…

I’m due to start the closest thing to a peak I’ll ever do and I’m down and out. Work and a virus have eliminated my time and willpower this week. I’m eyeballing a Saturday workout and I’m not anticipating great things.

Hope you’re on the mend by the time you read this.

Work for today:
Powerclean and press: 4-4-5-5-5 @60kg
Deadlift: 3 x 3 @ 135kg
Seated press: worked up to 55kg x 6
Then: 2 big drop sets, finished off with Y-raises.
Lateral raises on a 45 degree bench: some
Wendler Rows: some
Cable Chest fly supersets: lots, different heights
Walking lunges 5 x 10 @ 25kg

Notes:

  • Not feeling 100% today, but much better. No nausea, fever, etc. It just feels like I’ve swallowed 2 golf balls,
  • Deadlifts felt almost challenging today. I don’t know if that’s because of this last week or the higher intensities are showing, either way it’s getting on for max time.
  • Seated press might be PR, I’ve not been good at recording these recently. Last set felt much heavier than antcipate.
-Really like those raises @flappinit, even if lying on the bench like that makes me look like Kate Winslet in Titanic.
  • Everything else was fine.

Apologies in advance for using this log as a program sounding board, but have you thought of rerunning Mass Made Simple? Admittedly I’m asking party selfishly, because it’s always been something I was interested in but never found a good place for it in my own training.

I hadn’t, but I’m not sure exactly why not. It seems like a really good idea. Especially as I’ve always half wanted to do a run through of the T-nation version which includes 531. That’s definitely on the cards.

Thanks man.

I just looked this up and that’s a lot of moving parts there. I’m pretty sure I am not smart enough to run that.

I just never got it he really meant 20 sets of 15 because if so… geez
