AM:
200 calories uphill treadmill walking. Added a little running at the end to get it all done in time. Probably keep this up to be honest, pushing my heart rate higher seems useful.
Forgot to log nutrition yesterday, was probably there or thereabouts, will try and get it down later.
My current aim is 2500 cal from quality sources, those goals were from a while back and I havenāt modified them. Youāll notice I blow fat out the water daily.
Lower fat would also mean getting a handle on this whole āgood fatsā thing, which Iām told involves eating avocados and I donāt want any part of that
I also donāt enjoy nut butters. I can eat them whole, no issues though. I might have to actually do some research on this.
I feel like avocados tastes partly like chalk and partly like licking the bottom of a lawn mower. I havenāt tried guacamole recently, but I can certainly try.
This feels like a more sensible option, assuming itās readily available.
You can also just use olive oil of youāre really concerned about getting unsaturated fats. I was trying to give you edible options.
Unsalted almonds are my first choice. Pistachios are tasty. Peanuts are probably the āworstā of the nut family. Theyāre just a bit greasier.
The only thing to worry about with nuts is sodium. Itās easy (and cheap) to get salted mixed nuts and eat too many. Next thing you know, you just grab trail mix with m&ms and raisins and itās no longer about getting good fats.
You mentioned healthy fats and Thai usually means the poly and monounsaturated fats. The simple version is that saturated fats clog the arteries and unsaturated help break that up (or prevent it).
Thatās entirely way too simplified. Eat a combination of both for good health.
Youāre not choosing proper avocados, or you donāt have access to them. Theyāre creamy and sweet. And a properly ripe avocado is way softer to the touch than most people know. Iām not saying everyone has to like avocados, but the average person who describes them like you do simply hasnāt been eating good ones. UK isnāt known for its Mexican food, I doubt youād even have access to proper ones half the time.
Youāre probably correct, I might give avocado and guacamole another try at some point, probably mixed into some kind of burrito style deal, but if nuts work, that will probably be a big go to.
Pm workout:
Bench: 8 x 3 @ 80kg
Deadlift: 3 x 5 @ 130kg
Seated Press: 8 x 3 @ 50kg, ss.pull ups first few rounds
Cable rows: 2 sets to failure
Squat: worked up to 90kg x 5
Then: 6 x 8 @ 70kg
Notes:
Bench felt pretty easy to push, but unstable. Probably lack of effort on back showing here.
Deadlift was almost challenging. I went slightly over the prescribed weight out of laziness (130kg instead of 127.5). I still think Iād have double figures at that weight pretty easily if I wanted it.
Seated press, again pretty easy. Combined last two sets to get it done. Also cut out the superset pull ups this time as they were starting to bug my elbow for some reason. Did some cable rows instead.
Squat topset was stable and easy. As always, the bracing was more difficult than the actual lift. Knee was bugging me slightly on the down sets, will probably invest in some knee sleeves if Iām going to do high volume squats come the new year.
Nah dude, when I lived there one of my best friends was Indian and his parents owned a restaurant, and for years after when I visited we would finish drunk nights out with a good curry. Indian food is amazing in the UK. Also, the produce and meat was always local and good.
Canāt argue with that. Even after a pretty nasty case of food poisoning a few years ago, Iāll still go back for more. Always found it odd that Indian food seems to be much less of a big deal elsewhere in the world.
