When i first started logging climbing stuff, i tried to leave any of the jargon out, but its so much more fun if i just say what i did and let you guys guess what it means. It also makes it more useful for me as a training tool.
Spraywall (in my gym) is mildly overhanging, and usually very small holds. It’s rare for me to use any holds that are bigger than half a pad, and most of them will be smaller. It’s usually more strength intensive climbing than commercial sets, but not as intense and powerful as a 45degree Moonboard.
Probably the most physical set i’ve seen in a while. Lots and lots of shouldery moves, ratty little crimps, lots of compression and some big dynamic to finish it off. Good fun, but very tiring.
1 hour bouldering, mostly flashing up easy to midrange climbs.

Squats: nope
Lat pull downs ss. Straight arm pull downs:

Notes:
Really like this as a muscle building session for climbing. Add deadlifts at the start and maybe some kind of facepull at some point and it’s a really solid session.
Also debating giving up on barbell squats because my knees are getting all sorts of beaten up. I suspect landing from height 50+ times a week isn’t helping. If i put deadlifts into the plan and replace squats with slowed down hack squats, that might solve the issue. Might also solve the issue with racks being overused a lot.
Landmine, yes, not blocks though. To be honest, my knees seem to have held up really well to slow hack squats, so i’m going to stick to my plan of using deadlifts for strength and hack squats to build some mass. Slightly out of my depth going full bodybuilder on the squats, but i’m sure i’ll figure it out.
3 hours bouldering. Mostly technique drills. New glasses with a very different prescription make this terrifying. Looking down and the ground and seeing it sloping away from you is pretty scary.
Notes:
The plan was to ramp up work load in the run up to Christmas and make the most of a break in weight loss, but its proving incredibly difficult to get the workload in to make the most of it. Will probably have to call it early and end the “not dietting” phase early.
