Everyones invited: just pick a movement you haven’t maxed in half a year and bingo: instant PR.
Calf raise PRs coming right up.
That’s still a decent front squat despite your British deflection of complements, well done!
I’d congrulate you on the front squat PR, but it kinda feels like complimenting someone on their syphilis diagnosis.
It doesn’t feel decent, but i guess it depends on your frame of reference. I always compare myself to the mental list of “strong guys” on here, “strong guys” being anyone stronger than me. Anyone not stronger than me can’t be a strong guy, ergo: I am weak. Its a very circular argument. I’m frequently amazed at how piss weak people are in real life. One of our neighbours helped us move the elliptical upstairs recently, which was slightly awkward but also pretty light, and he was struggling pretty hard with it.
I didn’t even tell you about that
Things like this have a way of spreading.
Ooh, I see what you did there.
Awesome job! Killing it.
I was just thinking this the other day. It’s easy for us on here to compare ourselves to everyone else on the site and think, “I suck”, but in reality we’re comparing ourselves to a minuscule subset of thousands of people in our daily lives. The vast majority are, in fact, not all that impressive.
Sweet poetry @kdjohn mate.
Numbers mean fuck all however effort means EVERYTHING
Work for this morning:
10mins assault bike: 3.2 miles
Intended to do more but got a call from work. Honestly, that was enough. This thing sucks.
Why even call it an assault bike if it doesn’t have weapons.
“Non-Consensual intercourse bike” tested poorly in marketing.
And this is how I know you’re American.
If Dave was on there it had at least 2 big guns!!
Eh. Let’s not get carried away.
(Like I should talk)
Just the one big cannon. My arms are the living embodiment of “you won’t get big arms without direct arm work”
That’s a fair lick mate
Wee bit faster and you have a sub 30 min miler in the bag
I’m not convinced I could have carried on for 30mins though. #goals
So true!
And, since its really about effort and consistency, how piss LAZY people are. Consider how much you hate running; then consider that 90% of people in your peer group have NEVER run a mile in their adult lives.
NEVER squatted an empty barbell, let alone done what you can do with one.
Thank you. So true and yet so easy to lose sight of.
I know this isn’t the FF thread, but for the past six months or so, I’ve been coasting on the effort I made earlier in life. I’ve been training and I’ve been doing 5/3/1 to a T, but I haven’t been crushing myself. I’m in a strange time where my mental fortitude is lacking. I’m hoping it’s just temporary while I get this whole depression thing sorted out (which I feel is going well), but I just don’t really care too much about my training - not like I have in the past. But, that’s also kind of my goal - I needed to rearrange some priorities.
