Work for today:
Bench:
5 x 20kg
5 x 50kg
5 x 60kg
3 x 70kg
3 x 80kg
5 x 80kg
5 x 10 @ 60kg
Dips: some
Chest flies: some
Tricep extensions: some
Ab crunch machine: some
Step walker: 20mins LISS
Notes:
- Back in the gym and under a bench, feels pretty good. I was unprepared for the level of yoga pants at 6am, if Iām honest.
- Bench felt a bit rusty, but not the car crash I expected strength wise. Was mostly to set a sensible TM, and 80kg seems about right as a light TM.
- Wanted to do some LISS while I had time, but knee is still batching and moaning so tried to find something low impact. Ticked a box.
Gotta love those yoga pants. Good to hear you are back on the gym. Bring on the gym gainzzzz
I donāt even normally care that much, its not what Iām at the gym for. But even at 6am, the gym was full of girls who are dedicated enough to lifting to be at the gym at 6am, all wearing yoga pants. It was a bit of a shock to the system after a year training in a garage.
It weirds me out too. Iām not there to look at 'em, in fact I sometimes find it more distracting than fun, but the thing that gets me is, youāre in there at 6am - so obviously dedicated AF and hardcore serious⦠but youre dressed like youāre vain and superficial.
I could go on. But probably would lead in a bad direction so Iāll shut up.
To be fair, they didnāt look like they were there deliberately to stick their ass in my face or covered in make up or whatever. More that its just what they wear to lift. Fine by me, will just take a while to get used to.
Youāre obviously referring to āsmith machine single-leg glute extensionsā I see.
But yeah youāre right, and its admirable that they have the dedication to show up and work, and if thatās the trendy thing to wear, so be it. Canāt judge them for it.
In the summer, I wear a tank top and booty shorts to workout. Luckily Iām not attractive enough to be distracting
So if I wear booty shorts and people are distracted that means Iām attractive?
Brb, gonna do a Gymshark haul!
Certainly does just ask @guineapig ![]()
Guys, talk with your women sometime about fitness clothing for them. Itās pretty eye opening.
Women like yoga pants for training because they fit well, move well and are comfortable. Theyāre not a pair of shorts that some perv can look up when theyāre stretching on the floor or doing some abductor machine or leg press. Because as weāve identified here by all the comments about LOOKING at these women in their yoga pants: women have to deal with a LOT of sh*t when they just want to workout.
Should they instead wear some baggy ass basketball shorts? At that point weāre going into full on āhide your shameā mode.
Iāll step down from the feminist soapbox now.
No, no, yoga pants are the best thing ever created, for men and women.
I work out in tank tops and shorts, sometimes naked torso because when youāre in the South with no AC 35-40°C yeah fuck this shit and I donāt care if the ladies have a peek and giggle if anything I should be flattered
I am over what someone wears and why he/ she does it. I just do not care and neither should anyone else who identifies as an adult. Wear what youāre comfortable in. If thatās a sun dress and high heels thatās great. Highlights your calves.
Edit for clarity: I was adressing Pwnisher (as a generalization of men) directly with the sun dress comment.
Iām sure Pwn would rock a sun dress and high heels.
Work for today:
Front Squat:
5 x 20kg
5 x 60kg
3 x 70kg
1 x 80kg
1 x 90kg
1 x 100kg
2 x 100kg (PR)
1 x 110kg (PR)
Back squat:
20 x 100kg
Leg Extensions: some
Crunch machine: some
Notes:
- Aim for the day was to establish a TM for front squats. Unfortunately I forgot my belt and to eat so Iām not sure how accurate this is but fuck it, 2 PRs, Iāll take that.
- This is more or less the full session Iām planning for squat day, so pleased to see i can knock through it pretty quickly. Need to resist the temptation to add more easy stuff then slowly let the hard stuff slide. Just biceps and jumps to add, because I forgot them.
Crushed it dude! Iām going to give all the credit to that nutso Juarez Valley workout you did.
