I wish I wasn’t such a cheap ass, I would eat steak like that every day.
@Cyrrex That wasn’t a bad price at all, £5 for 500g. I don’t know how that converts to Canadian.
@T3hPwnisher I was also cooking 3 different meals for 3 different picky eaters so I had limited time to take pictures after cooking.
Transformation week whatever: weight 196lbs. Food was on autopilot and I’ve barely trained at all, obviously not great. However I’ve still lost weight so I’m obviously doing something right. Blew through the plague pretty well early in the week only to get bogged down in work and more self isolation stuff. I’m not expecting to finish this training block before starting the next one now, probably 2 weeks until then, so I’ll just train what and when I can and get some maxes tested in time.
Steak never needs justification dude. You’re rocking it. I’m doing elk burgers this week for my red meat: excited to get some photo ops.
Bookmarking this, seems a cool way to build your deadlift without overdoing it on reps. Think I will try this at some point - thanks for sharing.
@T3hPwnisher just noticed my regular shop is starting to get some interesting meats in there. Its been a while since I’ve tried anything new, and I’m pretty excited about some of them.
Work for today:

5 x 120kg
3 x 140kg
1 x 150kg
1 x 160kg
1 x 170kg
SLDL:
3 x 8 @ 110kg
Press:
15 × 1 @ 60kg (20s rest periods)
Sandbag carries:
Some
Notes:
- Nice to blow off the cobwebs in the sun.
- Plan was to work up to a sorta everyday max kinda thing on TBDL so I have some numbers to work from for daily dose. Very disappointed in the results, to be honest. 170kg was about as max as it gets and ugly as anything.
- Press was meant to be 3 clusters but it was moving too quickly at the end of the first so I just kept going and knocked out all 15 without a break and slowly shortened rest periods. Glad to know somethings going well.
- Sandbag to round it out because I haven’t had much time to play with it. Hits you like a tonne of bricks, love it.
- My better halfs birthday tomorrow so I won’t be training.
Happy Birthday to Mrs. Dagill
Thanks Chicken.
Get yourself some kangaroo mince it makes great lasagne when mixed with beef.
I’ll have to see whats available, but I’m definitely up for that. Pretty sure venison meat is a thing I can get hold of.
Work for this morning:
Couch to 5k W6D2 (I think):
2 x 10min runs with a break in the middle. This was a very “ish” session, headphones gave out about 5mins into the first run so lots of guesswork and fannying around trying to be able to hear what app lady was saying. Probably led to a not very fast time, but not too jazzed about that, its a pretty easy session by design and breathing isn’t quite back to normal from the lurgee. Also signals the end of the interval portion of couch to 5k, just in time for me to cut running frequency down to 1 a weeks so that works out nicely. Will probably get some weights lifted later.
Not that we are counting, but your 8 week program of running is now on week bajillionty-four.
How would you know if you aren’t counting?
I am not sure you’re ready for that level of honesty.
I did say upfront that I wasn’t in any way expecting to do 3 times a week, so in that way I’m right on plan.
I know I know. But that said - and I am probably not even right about this - I would worry that a week long pause would be a bit counter-productive? Cardio is easy to maintain, no doubt, but you are not yet in a maintain phase here. A couple of these runs are going to get pretty shitty.
You might be right, it may be a case of just slowing the decline. I’m hoping that one or two conditioning sessions a week, as well as one one will be enough to maintain but if I’m wrong, I’m wrong and I just slow the decline for this short mass building phase.
I think two would do it just fine, depending on just what the other session is. Cardio itself is overrated, we just want the cardiovascular benefits.
@Cyrrex the non-running sessions would probably be something like this, minus the pressing:
Work for this arvo:
Press:
5 x 5 @ 52.5kg
Juarez Valley Litvinov mash up:
Front squats (80kg )superset with 100m “sprint”:
8
1
7
2
6
3

This sucked so bad. Like, so bad I have no other words. Its been 10mins and I haven’t managed to get up and get my rack and weight moved inside yet.
You are a complete goddamn psychopath and I celebrate everything about you. I don’t drink, but I’m definitely having mead with you in Valhalla when we meet up.
