Got to blow off this plague first man.
A big stud like you?
Easy peasy mate
Itās kind of a specialist program so you want to prioritize the deadlift when doing it. You can still do other leg training; you just have to plan it so that it doesnāt interfere. I tried doing it on squats but I added that to the deadlifts so I was doing both every day. That seemed to wear me down after a few weeks. Iāve never tried it for squats alone but Iām tempted.
And boxing, according to some.
Silently rages in the corner
Pretty sure you mean judo.
A lovely, sunny family today, so no training. I did get myself a couple of treats though:
That bad boy, and a half kilo steak. Things are going to be getting anabolic in here pretty soon.
How heavy is the bag?
Currently ~65kg. Hard to say because my scales canāt deal with both my weight and the weight of the bag, so I had to balance it. Probably space to get a bit more sand in there, but not loads.
Nice, thatās going to be fun, I put mine to 82.5kg and itās just absurdly brutal, itās hilarious how little static barbell strength applies to anything remotely useful.
Youāre going to love it.
Edit, canāt you just stand the bag on the scales by itself?
This is why I love strong man. Sure having a 600lb dead lift is great. But can you lift a 300lb atlas stone?
Yes, but it overhangs and touches the ground.
Iāve got enough sand left over to do another 80kg one so I might invest in that too, depending how this one goes.
No. And no. But I totally get what youāre saying. Like @alex_uk, strongman stuff has always been more fun for me than powerlifting. Its the only strength sport Iād consider watching.
Itās why I spend so much time talking about being strong vs good.
Lift the weight with ugly bad form and let the internet burn while you actually get strong. Sandbags are great for that.
LOL, me either. This was very rhetorical.
Haha they truly are, specially if theyāre a bit loosely packed.
Definitely do one heavier one lighter, great options for differing work then, Iāve only got one, might invest in a second when my back is 100% - sandbag work would be a great addition to dark horse.

Hahahaha, totally is ![]()
Work for today:
Jumps: 10
Powerclean:
1-1-3-2-3 @ 70kg
Press:
3 x 1 @ 70kg
Squats:
5 x 5 @ 95kg
Press:
10 x 5 @ 47.5kg
Pull ups:
10 x 5
Dips:
5 x 10
Walking Lunges:
5 x 10
Notes:
- Not quite the massive session I had planned but Iām still not breathing well so all cardio/conditioning elements got canned pretty quickly. Donāt need cardio when just walking around gets you out of breathe. Stuck to absolute basics of the program just to get it ticked off, plus a couple of press singles mixed in with the powercleans because I felt like I could, and I was right. Pretty happy about this, because they both felt a whole lot easier than any of my previous 70kg presses but with no warm up, wrist wraps and a slightly narrower grip than I normally press with. Tells me Iām still getting stronger at pressing even at a lower bodyweight.
- Reverted to powercleans over high pulls, partly as a preparation for my next program (get a feel for where to put TMs etc.), and also because its sunny so I can train outside without fear of clattering the bar into anything.
I applaud how rare you had it.
