That’s an easy one: no

Have you ever looked into Simple & Sinister? Might fit the bill for when you need some quick daily work.
I’ve used what I thought to be Simple and Sinister before (10 x 10 swings plus get ups) plenty. Might be a good idea to start again, but this is doing what I want it to right now, which is ramp my metabolism up in the morning. It’s one of the new, diet versions of the 10k swings challenge that Dan John has come up with, seems to fit the bill. I’m also interested to try the “mix and match” bells version as a standalone sometime too.
Work for this morning:

Missed my swings this mornings because, honestly, I was a bit of a fanny and didn’t get out of bed in time. Owe them later.
What a fanny ![]()
Work for this arvo:
5 x 15 swings (24kg)
Was going to run, but everywhere is too snowy so will have to wait.
Transformation challenge week 4:
Weigh in it 199.8lbs, loss of 3lbs in a week, 9lbs total in the 2 weeks I’ve been using CarbonDiet. I seem to have beaten the system in that it’s bumped my calories up to 2k for this next week, which is promising. Will try and increase calories with extra fat or protein instead of the garbage carbs that I usually go for.
Training:
Started the week strong with 2 full lifting sessions, 1 run and a serious conditioning session. Tailed off towards the end of the week were I was only getting my daily swings in. Sold on the daily swings idea, just need to force the other stuff too.
Good man. I’m chuffed that the CarbonDiet app is paying off.
It’s superior to MFP in my opinion. Well worth the tenner.
Keep it up old chap
Working wonders mate. And I might joke around a bit about being hungry all the time, but it’s not been terrible.
Work for today:
Vertical jumps: 3 x 5
Front Squat:
5 x 60kg
5 x 70kg
5 x 80kg
5 x 90kg
Squat:
20 x 110kg
Giant set (5 rounds):
10 x press (45kg)
10 x lunges (18kg)
15 x swings (24kg)
Notes:
- Snow everywhere so I anticipate work to become a nightmare for the foreseeable. Also means runs will probably not happen until the ground is clear. Also meant everything had to be modified slightly to stay in the garage.
- Went off piste again for the squats, massive PR and a real, real push to get these done. Probably should stop training like I’m gaining weight but fuck it, these victories are good for the soul (copyright @kleinhound) in difficult times. Won’t catch me doing stupid shit like this again without safeties.
- Tried to video the squats for the check in thread but phone fell over after not many reps.
- Giant set dragged because 20 rep squats.
That’s not nothing right there, good stuff.
I honestly don’t struggle with the squatting on front squats, it’s the uncomfortable bar position that I really hate. Having said that, I think they’re doing really good things for my one-person squat too. I’m extremely confident that that 20 repper wouldn’t have happened before Christmas.
Oh snap, I didn’t even see that 110 x 20 set. Your drugs appear to be working.
That’s crazy dude. Well done
@Koestrizer @Cyrrex thanks guys.
Dear lord.
