10 Miles Back Again

Do people enjoy this without being on drugs? Not judging but the video doesn’t help the case, haha

I honestly have no idea, hardstyle is just a word that attaches to some internet fringe stuff for me.

Shuffling can be cool though, IMHO. I have a strong preference for seeing people dance that look like they are having a ton of fun. Moves are a secondary concern. The masks run anathema to that.

Watching old Soul Train line dance clips totally fits the bill though. Granted, not shuffling.

Well I’ve never seen someone in person make it look cool but in videos it sometimes does look kinda cool.
I like classical dancing. It’s fun and despite my phenomenal lack of sense of rythm, I actually learned a bunch of dance styles.

Work for this morning:
200m farmers walk (20kg and 16kg bells)
5 x 15 swings (20kg)
Pull ups

Notes:

  • Had to put the bells back out in the garage, took the chance to get a quick session in before work.

Work for this arvo:

Giant set (5 rounds):
Pull ups
TBDL (105kg)
Push press (60kg)

Notes:
Quick post work session just using the bars that were already loaded and in place. Terrible idea, really shockingly sore everywhere in a way I haven’t felt for long time.

Work for this arvo:
Squat:
5 x 70kg
5 x 90kg
5 x 100kg
5 x 110kg
3 x 5 @ 120kg

Notes:

  • Probably unlikely to be getting a full lifting session in until Monday at the earliest so will just be grabbing little bite sized sessions like this to remind my muscles they should continue to exist.
  • Felt really sloppy, been a while since I’ve squatted with any remotely decent weight so out of practice. Felt much easier than expected though, which is promising. Hopefully many months of this kind of training and I can start focussing on moving heavy weights again.

This feels like a repeatable thing that should do a lot of good things for me. Easy daily 10mins sessions to kick start the metabolism in the morning.

Big fan of that. Just starts the day off right.

T-ransformation challenge week 3:
Weighed in at 202.8lbs, down best part of 6lbs in a week after my biggest meal of the week. The lovely app that @ChongLordUno is bribing has decided that I did so well I get to do the same thing again this week so I’ve got a slight cheat tomorrow because the lasagne is already cooked, then back to the 1700 kcal for the remainder of the week. At that rate of loss, I’ll have hit my “goal weight” in barely over a month, which seems honestly insane. I’ll enjoy my cheat tomorrow, then soldier through the next week, see how it changes its mind.

Training: Only 1 run and 1 full training session, which is poor. I did get in a total of 10 mini sessions though, which is a massive step in the right direction. If I get minimum 2 runs and 2 full lifting sessions, I don’t need 10 mini sessions so the focus needs to be forcing the time to get the big sessions in first.

I can’t blame you with only 1700 cals a day. Nice discipline. :+1:

@Frank_C Discipline wasn’t too difficult for only one week, I can lie to myself for one week. Week 2 will be a challenge, so I’m allowing myself a slight cheat today while still staying under maintenance but probably needed psychologically.

Work for today:
Jumps:
3 x 5

Front Squat:
5 x 70kg
5 x 70kg
5 x 80kg
5 x 85kg

Back Squat:

Giant set (5 rounds):
10 x press (42.5kg)
15 x swings (36kg)
20 x walking lunges (16kg)
20 x air squats (16kg)

Dip drop set:
Weight vest (16kg) to failure
Unweighted to failure
Push ups to failure

Yeah mate, feels like I’ve turned a corner here. Just the difficult bit of keeping the momentum going now.

Hows life on the gains train?

Work for today:

Pull ups
W3D2 of couch to 5k

Notes:

  • Nothing too dramatic today, time and distance includes the pull ups and an extra bonus run at the end. In fact, all the data on the screenshot is more or less useless for any kind of comparison so I’m not sure why I’m uploading them everytime to be honest.
  • Plan to do my swings later as long as nothing goes horribly wrong at work.

It’s never useless because it shows that the work is getting done

There are faceless fake fucks galore on here who dispense with advice yet do sweet fuck all. Real data is their kryptonite

@ChongLordUno I’m pretty sure no-one would bother to lie about the work being done here.

Juarez Valley front squats (80kg) ss. 5 burpees:

Notes:

  • Was out in the garage anyway doing my swings, thought I’d sneak in a little extra work by RX-ing a @T3hPwnisher idea. Because I’m really fucking stupid.
