10 Miles Back Again

No intention of trying to lose any of it this year because the press goal will be touch and go as is, but I’ll admit its definitely making me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Embrace it!

…Not metaphorically - literally hug it you big fat pudding.

… No joking, embrace the mindset that it’ll bring you closer to your goal and it’s only temporary, plus you’ll gain some muscle along the way and you can let loose: I ate 3 desserts today and pizza and I’m not done yet!

I find it hard to justify the eating in my current situation. But hey, it’s done and I won’t be making any effort to undo it until next year.

I wrote up a post recently about strategically phasing junk into the diet to reach weight gain goals. I plan to post it this weekend, but it is on reddit if you want a sneak preview. Basically details the debauchery needed for my press goal.

Highlights are a frozen pizza or 1lb ribeye for pre-pre workout meal.

I feel like these are on opposite sides of the food quality spectrum :joy:

Both significant sources of saturated fats.

Nothing strategic about my use here at all, purely weakness.

I’ll likely leave your blog post until Sunday as it’s become a bit of a ritual for me. I still get thrown slightly when I read them at other times. Also: I don’t need more encouragement to eat crap.

I feel ya there. I ate pizza for lunch and dinner Friday. I ate it again for lunch yesterday and had more tonight for dinner.

Man I miss pizza. My wife and kid keep having pizza nights without me. I swear it is on purpose.

@Frank_C as a non professional athlete, I have a hard time figuring out where on the clean eating scale I should be sitting for maximum happiness. Without those hard metrics, it can be quite easy to convince myself one way or the other

@T3hPwnisher now you’re gaining weight, what’s the barrier to pizza? Is it still a saturated fat issue? I have to say, if my better half had a pizza night without me I’d have to marry her, just so we could get divorced.

@guineapig I’m slowly learning how sensible training works, give me time, I’ll get there.

Yeah. I am eating more saturated fats now, but from good sources ala Mountain Dog. Pizza is very much a cheat meal. I am up for that cheat, but the timing hasn’t been right.

Why would I tell my wife a story about herself?

Pizza nights are always fun. Typically make it board games or movies to go with it. Stuffed crust is my jam: got the whole family hooked.

You walk a very thin line my friend😂

100% agree. Soon we’ll have an opportunity to do these regularly as a family and I’m far more excited than I should be.

The little traditions and rituals are huge, especially to the kids. It’s too easy to get wrapped up in our own world and forget how magical the small things are to them. Pizza night or a Happy Meal can sometimes be the highlight for the week.

“Old MacDonald” is one of little mans favourite treats. Little lady would rather sit down with a bowl of strawberries.

I still remember my weekly burgers that we’d have with my mum in the car park of some club or other because we had too many after school activities between me and my sister.

I am such a bad dad!! My kids have never been in a Maccas. I tell them if the arches are lit up then it means they are full, so we just drive past :joy::joy:

I am genuinely curious; why do people call it Maccas? Is that the actual name for it in Australia?
