Nope, it’s called that in Germany as well. Although I didn’t imagine this exact spelling.
Na we just like to give slang names to everything in Aus.
My name for McDonald’s is McDiabetes.
I completely agree with this, but not like this stubborn mule ever listens.
My daughter is just under 2 and she already screams ‘CHIPS’ when we drive by a maccy d’s ![]()
My kid won’t eat fries. It’s crazy. We actually forced them to try one as part of the “eat different foods” thing. Doesn’t care for them, or any other kind of spud.
Is this a parenting flex?
Not at all: I wish they would eat them.
My little girl is similar. Occasionally she’ll have a chip (fries), but once in a blue moon. She’s quite happy with a plate full of veg and salad, and will move onto other peoples salad when she’s done with hers. We’re starting to get a bit confused how we get actual calories in her.
Work for today:
2k rower (low speed, warm up)
Powerclean and press:
5 x 40kg
5 x 50kg
5 x 1 @ 60kg
5 x 60kg
Deadlift:
5 x 100kg
3 x 120kg
5 x 3 @ 130kg
SLDL:
8 x 110kg
15 x 110kg
Bent over row:
15 x 60kg
Row machine: Some
Ab machine: Some
Notes:
- My gym is busy even at 5:30 so planned a session that ticked all the boxes I wanted without having to leave the one spot more than necessary. Semi successful, but the bent over rows felt like shit (on the elbows, not the back which is new and odd), so switched to a machine row.
- Need to remember that I’m stronger now than previously, 8 reps of SLDL at that weight is too easy.
Work for today:
Pin press (weak point):
3 x (2-2-2) @ 60kg
Push Press:
7 x 8 @ 62.5kg
Giant set (3 rounds):
15 x machine incline press
12 x y-raises
20 x band pull aparts.
1 mile run to Subway
1 milenrun back from Subway.
Notes:
- push presses started easy, got difficult.
- no dip station free, shoulda done push ups instead, didn’t.
Did you read that Irish court decided that Subway bread has to be considered confectionery because of its added sugar content?
Figured you might get a rise out of knowing that.
I didn’t know but to be fair, I wasn’t eating Subway because I thought it was quality food. The missus wanted and I’m paying minimal attention to nutrition at the minute.
I’m very unsure if I am picking up on a vibe here or not but is everything okay with you, mate? Are you eating “bad” because you are stressed or just having a good time?
That’s why you always get double meat on Subway, to balance things out. ![]()
Stressed, mostly. Works kicking my ass at the minute along with a few other “life” things so lifting/nutrition focus has gone down to bare minimum to achieve my goals, which is an 80kg press. Training wise, that is 2 workouts a week of pressing, as planned, with extra volume push ups daily. Everything else happens if an opportunity presents itself but I won’t sweat it if not. Nutrition wise: I make sure I get enough protein and calories and everything else is whatever presents itself.
@ChickenLittle this one actually was a double meat because the guy was a fucking idiot who took 20mins to make 3 sandwiches, but he did half fill mine with the wrong meats before realising his mistake and just piling the right ones on top. Free protein.
I wasn’t having a stab at the meal choice ![]()
Probably should, not really looking forward to shifting all this weight to be honest but I don’t need to be adding any stressors right now.
I know now that your Standing on Two Feet Shoulder Width Apart Overhead Pressing Movement without any Kind of Leg Drive or Knee Wiggling is on a program, but are your push presses also on a program? Or is that just whatever you feel like?
Reason I bring it up is because I am basically convinced that going as heavy as possible and maxing out is what got me to my goal quite a big sooner than I expected. It was a way to put a load on those muscles, especially upper back, that I was unable to do with ordinary presses or even repping out the push presses (unless those push presses were over my max strict).
Currently I’m running with:
Press day:
Press: 531 pervertor
Assistance giant set
Push press day:
Pin press (clusters)
Push press (lots)
Those pin presses were meant to be overload work, but since the pins put them at maximum eye level (the weakest point in the movement for me), I’m not sure they’re doing the job I originally intended them to. But yeah, I was thinking about this between sets earlier, considering either switching pin presses out for something heavy and full range or switching my 531 template to something simpler with jokers.
I can see the idea of using pin presses for working weak points (if in fact that truly is your weak point), but the push press is probably better for overload. It is quite reasonable to expect that, with practice, you can push press AT LEAST 20 kilo more than strict. There is no better way to overload, methinks.
