I’ve been on TRT for about eight months, with the following protocol:
200mg test cyp 1x weekly
1mg Anastrozol 1x weekly
I’ve been using 1" 23G needle to inject into my glutes, but my doctor is now recommending using a 27G with only a 1/2" needle tip, continuing with glute injections.
I was concerned that this might be too short a needle depth for effective IM injections, but I queried the doctor’s office and they said they are switching patients over to this type of needle.
I like my doctor a lot but wanted to get feedback from others on this needle length for glute injections.
I have had a couple of episodes of PIP under my current protocol but otherwise have been happy.
A 27 gauge will not be long enough for IM in the glutes, it will be SQ. I inject in the shoulders where fat is thinnest and in the quads. By the way I’m 31% body fat and hit muscle every time.
You’ll need 1ml 27 gauge syringes.
I use 1/2" 28g for IM in the delts
Gauge is fine, length is fine, but why are you injecting in the glutes? Talk about making life difficult. But maybe you’re a contortionist. Quads or delts for IM, wherever the fat is thinner and the there’s a chunk of meat big enough to hit. You won’t even feel it if you’re used to 23 ga
Dex , I know your lean but ever consider going to a 5/8 just to get that extra length for deeper IM ? I’m using the BD 25g 1" and would like to go to the 27g 5/8 insulin , I have a box of 100 but want to make sure I hit into the muscle . I’m around 18-20% bf …legs and shoulders are fairly lean tho , carry my exess fat in love handles and stomach . Think id be good with the 5/8 " ??
I used 5/8 but I just like 1/2 better. Not a major difference. I’m around 15% body fat so I could be leaner if I drank less. You’ll be fine with whatever you use. It’s pretty hard to screw up. 5/8 is fine.
I may try , thanks for the feedback and also u didn’t look 15% in the pic u posted the other day … can’t remember the thread . Looked like 9-11% pal . Shoulders and arm wax ripped !
