Missed episode 2 last night, but a question now for surviving the zombie hordes.
You always see them using fairly large caliber guns to dispatch the zombies. .9 mm, .45, I’m guessing the rifle he used upstairs was a .30-06 or maybe a .308. My question is if preparing for a zombie horde, why not go with a smaller caliber, much cheaper bullet that makes less noise and will still put a hole in someones head such as a .22 short or long? While it doesn’t have knock down power, if all you need to do is scramble the brain to get a kill, a .22 will do it, probably up to 100 yds distance. Up close, you can fire faster, no appreciable recoil.

I had this same conversation with a friend the other day and we agreed a .22 would be an awesome choice. Like you said you need to stop them just drop’em. Granted in the case of a zombie apocalypse you use what you can find but if I’m buying ammo .22 is the way to go.
No worries Wade Phillips future’s unknown.[/quote]
Are you kidding he is high tailing it out of Texas, worried he maybe killed. Well not really Grandpa will just wonder off into the wilderness still looking for his lost slippers. I guess I am stuck with the red headed back-up for the rest of the year.
^Hahahahah, actually got lazy and didnt want to google another picture. I see a lot of those smart cars here in Houston, I would rather ride my motorcycle.

A guy I used to work for bought one for his girl. That thing looks like if you pushed it hard enough it’d fold faster than Superman on Laundry day.

other option I think would be using a shotgun with low brass shells , kind you use for skeet shooting. A box of 100 12 gauge is around $20, at less than 100 ft the pattern would definitely be fatal on a head shot, and if we’re saying it takes the same level of brain trauma to kill a zombie as a live person, the potential for multiple kills with one shot is possible.

who cares how much ammo costs in a zombie apocalypse? its not like you’d be paying for it anyway
One thing that sorta bothered me is that in the first episode, when they’re cornering the criminal, no one can shoot for shit. Then, suddenly, Rick can get head shots one handed while running without too much trouble.
Huh?
I’m liking the series so far, I’m actually a little happy that it’s not exactly like the comic book–gives something a little fresh and new to the experience.
Double post, so I will say this the zombie would have to be killed again before you could mount her, since she would bite you while you plow the field. So that would be double necrophilia or zombiphilia.
