I don’t know about you guys, but before I go to bed I have either some yogurt, cottage cheese, or just protein shake w/ one scoop.
On my ZMA bottle the recommended use is:
Take 3 capsules a day for men, or 2 capsules a day for women, 30-60 minutes prior to bedtime. For best results, take on an empty stomach, or avoid taking with foods and supplements containing calcium.
I can say when I followed the recommended use exactly I did get better quality sleep. When I didn’t take it on an empty stomach or calcium containing it worked for me. I guess it has more benefits besides sleep quality.
How do you guys deal with this? I just think I’m robbing my body of nutrients I could be getting in.
I didn’t buy this supplement because I have money to waste, I really have a difficult time falling asleep. Some tips on inducing sleep will be great.
Eat the food 30-45 minutes before bed and take the ZMA right before you hit the sack.
ZMA won’t help you get to sleep - it’ll keep you there once you do fall asleep though. To get to sleep - as somebody mentioned in another thread, try a shot of whiskey and a few hits from the bong.

do it the other way round. ZMA takes 30 min to digest, food takes 3 HOURS.
Hmm, interesting, I’ve always done it food then ZMA. And I haven’t noticed any differences in the quality of sleep when I take ZMA on an empty stomach or 30-45 mins after food. I’ll have to try it the other way around sometime.
