I’ve been taking zinc and magnesium before bed. The gnc didn’t have any ZMA, once I run out of this stuff I’ll buy some from Biotest. It’s not ZMA but it’s the basic components, just different amounts.
I noticed when I started taking them, I would sleep deeper and wake up feeling really refreshed. But lately I haven’t been feeling that way. Last night I woke up three times (the neighbors, had to piss, and those fucking coons in our roof). I started eating cottage cheese about an hour before bed so I guess now the zinc and magnesium I take an hour later isn’t getting absorbed as well. Also I’ started drinking more water. I guess I’ve got to eat my curds earlier and take zm on an empty stomach now.
You’re way off dude. best case scenario you would take the ZMA on an empty stomach and eat your cottage cheese DIRECTLY prior to bed (gotta keep that protein as long as you can).
So say you go to bed at 12, and your second last meal is at 10. Eat at 10, take ZMA at 11, Eat cottage cheese at 12 , sleep at 12:05. and BINGO. You got T3H W1N . Just avoid anything slow digesting before bed. Or mass quantities of stuff.

I eat my cottage cheese around 10 and I take the zinc and magnesium an hour later. I turn out the lights at 11:30. I always thought that ZMA should be the last thing I’d take/eat at night.
BTW, what else does ZMA have in it? I know the zinc and magnesium, but I heard once that theres vitamin B12 in it too. Am I wrong?

nah, but i don’t take it every single night. i don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking only 2 capsules either.

Yeah, I took 2 capsules last night with 20 oz water about 30 minutes before I went to bed, but I also took it with valarian. I slept very well.
I’m going to use this from now on, its weird. I tried valarian in the past and it didnt work, this past week tried ZMA and didnt work, but them together they worked great. There arent any side effects (or “clashes” so to speak) with these supps, correct?

I’ve been taking ZMA for the past week or so, 3 pills about an hour before I go to sleep. Not only does it seem that I havent been getting any higher quality sleep, but I feel like its harder to fall asleep, and each morning I wake up dehydrated.

I have not noticed the dehydration, but I have found that on ZMA (only started it for the first time a week ago) I struggle to get to sleep, and I feel that overall my sleep is worse. I think that I probably sleep deeper, but I wake up a lot during the night so in the morning I dont feel as rested as I did before starting ZMA.
I also have a lot of other stressors in my life at the moment and I think that these are probably the cause of the problem and not the ZMA, just unfortunate that it started at the same time I started taking the ZMA.
I am going to stick with it for a bit longer to see if it changes as the stress in my life starts to reduce, but if my sleep continues like this I will probably stop taking ZMA so that I can work out if it is the ZMA or my lifestyle.

Just take it in the morning. Thats what I do. Been doing it forever and no problems whatsoever.
I had some nightmare issues so I went A.M.
Bottom line - I wouldnt quit on it. Its IMO absolutely essential. if there is only one supp you take, make it ZMA
