Well I mean we had a lot of other food since she just went shopping, but I can’t open up new food when we have fresh fried chicken. Its more of a just not wasting food I suppose.
Yeah, again, it’s not something I’d be too concerned about at this point in life. You’re in a spot where you can be afforded a LOT of dietary discretion. Dusty Hanshaw specifically talks about how he programs fast food for his teenage clients simply because they have to outeat the impact of training AND growing. I ate a LOT of leftovers at that age. It was honestly a race between my dad and I to see who could get to them first, haha.
Yeah I guess that makes sense.
a race between my dad and I to see who could get to them first,
Lol. I’m lucky with that actually. Mom doesn’t eat a ton, Dad doesn’t eat a ton. I almost never see them have breakfast. Most of the time they will eat lunch. Dinner they always have. I guess they get enough, but they are used to it also. Growing up, Dad was poor so he had to deal with not having a ton of food. I can’t do that though. I have fasted before though. Once I didn’t eat for 2 days. I wasn’t super hungry. I was aiming to go longer, but I ate one peanut and it spiraled from there. Im glad I’m not essentially starving myself trying to lose weight anymore.

I had to finish the fried chicken. I made sure to eat all the tendons and cartilage I could. I do this in an effort to get the most nutrients, and because I don’t want to waste anything (we don’t need to do this but it gives me something to do)
(normally lunch is healthier than this don’t worry lol)
Did the workout just now. Dang. That was a bit harder than I thought it would be. First round of pushups I knocked them out in one set but Im definitely not as strong as I was a few weeks ago. Dips I could not do 15 in a row. The rest was pretty easy. Dips were brutal. I couldn’t do any the last circuit. I was squatting down and just pushing up some with my arms on the dip bars.
Good part though; I finally got a good pump in after 2 weeks of not working out except for the 3 PRs.
Tomorrow will be a 30 minute run. I was looking forward to it but now… I hope I’m not as out of shape with running. I haven’t ran a mile in 3-4 weeks due to smoke from Canada, Rain, and Heat.
Congrats on getting through the first one! How long did you rest between circuits?
Less than 15 seconds, I didn’t write down if I should rest between circuits. Should I / How long should I rest for future reference?
That is very short rest there: it’s no wonder you couldn’t get through it all. Try 2 minutes of rest between circuits. You want to allow yourself to recover so that you can get in meaningful training volume. Over the 5-8 weeks, you can start reducing rest times as needed, but you’re trying to BUILD a base here: shorting yourself on reps won’t get you there.
Got it, ok yeah Il do 2 minute rest next time.
Excellent. And within a circuit itself, if you can’t get all the reps, rest a few seconds to regather yourself and get some more. Also known as a “rest pause”.
Yeah, I was doing that the last 2 circuits for pushups, The rest of the exercises were super easy, with the exception of inverted rows, which were moderate intensity.
Wednesday’s Ruck should be easy for the most part. Some days If I decided to walk home from school I would have to take my 25lb backpack and walk for 30 minutes, It was pretty easy. I’l have to add more weight in my backpack though. That reminds me I threw out my backpack I used for 3 years. Who would have thought carrying 25 pounds in a backpack that I have to squeeze just to close would put stress on the zipper, leading it to not work on the last few days of school, where I had to literally tape it together so I could do to school? Guess Il have to use a different backpack.

Chest is very sore, back is a bit sore too.
Well. I ran 22 minutes. I used a few walk rests, but other than that i did pretty good. Total distance of 2 miles. The first mile i ran without stopping, better than i thought i would do. Then the rest I had to use a few walk rests, Other than that it was fun. I guess I was tired when I stopped. I should have kept going I could have done it. Oh well. The next run should be a little easier since I have a feel for the scale of time.
This is the second time I’ve seen this annotation. Does this mean the same as 1.25 cups? I’m not used to seeing it expressed this way.
Congrats on getting the run knocked out. It sounds like Base Building is going to do a lot to help establish some GPP for you.
Does this mean the same as 1.25 cups?
Yeah, its quicker than typing out the decimal. I think of it as 1 1/4 but its faster to type 5/4
