I’m not quite 35, but any particular issue with the straps? I’ve become pretty talented with them, might be able to lend a hand.
T3h, I just need to learn how to use them. I have a contest in December with an axle DL for reps were I’ll need them. I think the problem is I can’t squeeze the bar as hard as without them, which is my “go signal” for deadlifts. I just can’t get comfortable with them. Any advice would be great.

I find the biggest issue is that most folks just wrap the strap around the bar a bunch of times, which basically makes the bar a thick bar without really getting any of the benefits of the straps.
This is an old video I made, it’s kind of crummy quality, but it should explain a better way to set-up. You’re basically going to cross the straps over so that they work against themselves.
