1-Diablo 1 & 2
2-Call of Duty
3-Mass Effect 2 (never played the 1st one)
4-GTA (Probably Vice City. I never got around to finishing the last one)
5-Half Life series
1.Battlefield 2
IMO no better FPS. Vehicles, weapons, map size (especially map size, nothing better than nailing someone 200 metres away with a tank or a sniper), map variety, varying kits, squads and teamwork all come together so smoothly.
2.GTA San Andreas
I could drive around on the highway with the ‘radio’ on for hours on end.
3.Call of Duty 4
The best run and gun FPS. Probably nothing better for some quick mindless action.
4.Every Zelda game released on Gamboy Color and Advance
Can’t choose between any of these, nothing like going through a good dungeon.
5.Halo
Always a great way to spend a lazy afternoon with mates on multiplayer or singleplayer.
Age of Empires
Empire Earth
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Age of Conan
The Witcher
What I would say are truly the best:
The Witcher- Loved this game. I loved the combat, story and feel.
Age of Conan- Couldn’t care less about the story. In fact, they shouldn’t have based it on that franchise in the first place, but this is the most beautiful and mesmerizing game you’ll ever play. As far as looks go, nothing compares on full settings. The combat was fantastic, in that it was real-time, but required lots of thought and participation on your part.
May Payne- Just plain addicting. Story was really gritty and awesome as well. Those dream sequences were creepy as hell.
Honorable mentions:
Bioshock- Truly an awesome-looking game. I just hated the mouse synch issues they blatantly said they would never fix, despite many people having the same problem.

Haha holy shit I forgot about Jagged Alliance! I’ve got the CD at home lying on my tower but the damn thing has gotten so scratched up over the years that it won’t work
Aggg this reminds me of another awesome game I used to play but I’ve forgotten the name.
EDIT: I remember now!!
Did anyone here ever play an of the Commandos series? I thought they were pretty damn good…
Wow so many games I remember and loved! The comandos series were fucking awesome!
So my top five are probably:
the monkey island series - really suprised nobody said this yet! Great humour and nice and tricky
Knights and merchants - it’s an awesome rts that very people I know have ever heard of
The discworld games (can’t get 1 & 2 for love nor money but noir is easy enough to find) - again point and click with some great humour (it’s terry pratchet what do you expect lol)
Heavy gear - I never played number 2 but my guess is it’ll be awesome… Not only was the game incredible in it’s gameplay, the cut scenes were shot like a proper movie and the ability to choose which type of missions you wanted to do rocked!!!
fallout 1+2- amazing games! 'nuff said
Some hounerable mentions go to:
c&c red alert
day of the tenticle
James pond
Simon the sauceror
counter strike
dune 2000
final fantasy 7
Morrowind - Not sure what I can say here. Just played the shit out of this.
Planescape: Torment - Only played this a year ago. Hands down the best traditional RPG I’ve ever played. Amazing story, amazing characters and it even looked okay for a ten year old game!
Pokemon gold: Yeah, I have over 400 hours logged in this one.
The Orange box - Half-life 2 is awesome and so are its episodes. Portal is one of the funniest, most innovative games I’ve played. Didn’t care much for TF2 though.
GTA IV - Has the greatest production values of any game, ever. I didn’t like everything about it but the characters and story were pretty compelling.
Honorable mentions:
Red dead redemption - I might actually prefer this over GTA, but I haven’t played it as much.
Mass effect 2 - Awesome.
TES IV: Oblivion - Not as good as Morrowind but more user-friendly.
