I had a horrible pain shoot through my stomach to my groin area (on the left side) I woke up today with a big ass bruise on my belly but a lot less pain so I think the tweak I had was not as bad as I originally thought.
As I am an idiot I assumed that I had an Inguinal Hernia (because I am a part time doctor as well as a part time hypochondriac), I was kidding around a bit, which is where the testicle comment came in, however this morning I figure I just pulled a stomach muscle which, while uncomfortable, is much more tolerable.
Regarding unilateral work, I hope to work some more into my day above and beyond things like curls and KB presses, I’m just way to scared, and unsteady, to incorporate it into free weight leg movements.
I’ve always wondered how I would like to weigh over 300 lbs. I’m only 5 feet 8 inches tall so I’d be pretty wide. On the other hand I once got my weight up to about 240 and i couldn’t stand it. I was pretty big but uncomfortable so I may keep it below 230 unless I am able to slap on more than 20 or 30 pounds of muscle and that just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen so it’s just strength building for me.
You can judge a good commercial gym by the number of testicles laying around on the floor. I’ve only found two gyms like that in Texas. None in California…
I have the same tweak in the lower abdomen going on from squats last week. My personal professional medical diagnosis is a strained Psoas. I have a lot of trouble with those buggers. Still bothering me a little today so I took it easy on lifting.
Jjack,
Thank you sir, I fear it may be an anomaly.
GV,
Thanks.
KP,
That’s very nice of you to say, thanks.
DBasler,
Somehow I doubt that, but thanks anyway.
Yesterday
I decided that this week should be all about the deload, so I used the “It’s Veterans Day” excuse to get out of household chores Monday, went to the gym and did a light upper-body workout, then skipped lower body on Tuesday and I feel like absolute shit, my joints are aching, I can’t sleep, I think I may need to do my legs today just so I can get some relief. It sucks when being lazy is painful (since lazy is my default state) so in a drastic change of situations I now have to work out to feel better. Balls.
Can’t sleep, sore all over, aching joints sounds like a common theme around these threads, know I’m in this vein too. It’s so fun being alive and hurting so nicely.
Brian do you have to get the 145’s in position to do the OHP by yourself or is there someone there to lift them to you. I always found once I got above 100’s it took as much, if not more energy for me to get the dumbbells in position to press them as it did to actually do the set. Never got above 115’s and there is no way I could even have ever gotten 145’s into position to press them.
