YOU are SELFISH

“I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”

     --- John Galt (Atlas Shrugged)

"It’s not change when he (McCain) wants to give $200 billion to the biggest corporation or $4 billion to the oil companies when today, Exxon-Mobil announced that it had made the greatest profits of any corporation in the history of the world: $14 billion in one quarter. That’s all your money. You are – you are paying it at the gas station."

Actually, it’s Exxon-Mobil’s money. They recieve THEIR money through voluntary exchange at the gas station. Now Obama, he’ll actually take the money of others through force. He really has a very disturbing view regarding voluntary market exchanges.

Trickle-down economics works.

Look at the so called bailout. AIG got billions of dollars from the government.

They used it for a 1/2 a billion dollar party. They got spa treatments, the best golf and scotch.

Then they told the government they needed more money. So of course they handed it to them.

So they celebrated with a hunting trip that went into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

All the while they were handing out bonuses and talking about their successful dealings with the government.

What trickled down? THE BILL!

The rich get the mine - the workers get the shaft.

This is how real trickle down economics really works.

ABC Corporation needs to lower costs and “inflate” the sales numbers. So in order to justify their high salaries and bonuses (which are never part of the financial problem) they lay off 1000 workers.

Now that 1000 people buying less groceries and the stores start to feel the pinch, so they cut back on hours and lay off a couple more people.

So now that number has grown by a couple more people .

People aren’t going to restaraunts any more,so now some of them lay off more people.

So now that number grows and even more people are buying less.

In the local economy there is no longer a real eastate market because of the number of un-employed people so the real estate offices are starting to close for lack of sales.

This goes on and on.

THAT is trickle down economics.

I don’t whether it’s Obama or McCain they are BOTH lying.

All either of them care about is making the rich richer. Why because they are rich.

The only thing John McCain cares about when it come to Joe the working stiff is how much of his wifes beer he’s going to buy.

Obama if you stop listening to McCain’s mis-leading drivel (he needs you vote for him, so it sure as hell isn’t the truth) Obama, he wants to Unionize the country.

Every house is going to have an AFL-CIO sticker on the front. Whether you want to be uinon or not.

So keep on buying their bullshit and defending their policies. Neither one really cares a plug nickel for your ass.

Now go kick one of your neighbors and buy more of Cindy McCain’s beer. Because with the trickle down economics they are talking about, you need to keep eating beans so they can keep eating steak.

So, what’s wrong with asking another man to live for yours?

And I thought you guys welcomed the term “selfishness” as a good thing. So what’s so bad about Obama using the term in your eyes?

McCain donated 5 million to charity in the same amount of time it took obama to donate 7 thousand. Sure McCain has more to work with, but obama’s 4mil could suffer a bit more than 7k if he really cared about poor folks, ya?

obama talks a lot of good stuff but his life and voting record go against everything he portrays himself to be.

Giving handouts to people in the ghetto will result in a few more bigscreens, but for most of them it wont go much beyond that.

“Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he will eat for the rest of his life.” Handouts arent going to solve anything.

What an ass Obama is.

I’ll be voting for him, not because I support him, but because I want to see him fail miserably.

Obama = tricked out economics

There. Fixed that for ya.

As much as I think you are well intentioned it bothers me that you over state the AIG fiasco 1000 fold. I think it was despicable, but the retreat only cost 440k.

The hunting trip as despicable as the retreat was 86K.

When McCain supports the bailout it isn’t socialism.

When McCain wants to buy up mortgages it isn’t socialism

When McCain want to keep providing tax money to the banking and financial industry it isn’t socialism

When McCain want’s to bail out the automakers it isn’t socialism

McCain’s version of goverment provided health care isn’t socialism

McCain’s insistance on providing subsidies to the oil companies (something I have never understood) it isn’t socialism

When McCain taxes the middle-class to death and provides for the wealthiest people in the country (earth?) it isn’t redistribution of wealth.

There is no way McCain is going to raise taxes.

He is going to save every major Bank and Financial Institution, Automakers.
Airlines, every major corporation will not take a loss, not to mention buying all those mortgages.

He is going to give all this money away to save America.

Hell no, he isn’t going to raise taxes, the god damn Obama is.

I am glad that my numbers were wrong and the lesser figure makes it right. It was originally stated as 880k.

But if selfishness is the ultimate moral value, why not go all the way and force people to serve your interests wherever you can get away with it?

What, in your view, is selfishness?

Hitler is a prime example of unselfishness: he demanded that others live/die for the benefit of the Aryan Race. He required victims.

Stalin and Mao believed that people should live/die for the proletariat. They required victims.

Obama’s policies require victims — those who’re expected to provide the bonanza for all the rest. Same philosophies, different degrees of application.

Bah, you guys miss the point. It’s not about entitlement or giving things to people who won’t work for it.

In reality, creating a larger and larger poor class, complete with all the crime and welfare that it invokes, will cripple your nation’s economy. This shift has been happening with the recent policies.

Making sure that more of the lower class finds it possible to earn a living, pay taxes, get credit, and play a role in the consumer economy will strengthen the economy and hence the nation.

Dig beneath the ideologies a little bit…

Now, admittedly, if Barack wanted to create entitlement and give people money for nothing, that WOULD be a problem. Of course, there will be no end of people claiming that to be the case… and no end of people willing to lap up whatever they are told to fear.

When did he say he was going to save every bank, auto maker and airline? I thought his main concern was to solidify the housing market.

I believe McCain had planned on leaving the Bush tax cuts in place and it was Obama who was going to remove them(effectively raising taxes on the middle class) and then raise the taxes on anyone deemed successful in this country. If you raise taxes on all these large corporations they are going to cut spending somewhere, and that somewhere is at the minimum wage level and price increase to consumers.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it is Pelosi and Reid(dem. house and senate majority leaders) swearing another 300 billion in bail out money. It is also Barney Frank saying we need to slash defense by 25%(one of the few things the federal govt. is constitutionally obligated to provide)so we can fund more social entitlements.

You suggest the US is defenseless?

There are many aspects of military spending that are not defense related, but I would imagine any spending cuts would be characterized as “defense” cuts.

Simply getting the majority of troops out of Iraq would end up being a large defense spending cut… and it seems likely to take place over the next term no matter who wins.

Pick up a newspaper. McCain is alreaady voicing his aupport for “saving” the auto industry (more money). He is the wanted that wanted to buy bad mortagages and charge you for them (wouldn’t want the banks to take a loss on all the prior profit). He has been talking the whole time about the rich man’s version of saving the economy. Why should major corporations (banks etc) take responsibility for the losses? Everthing was fine when they were charging up to 30% on sub-prime loans and massive credit card debt. It was them that pushed the Bush administration to make very hard if at all possible to file bankruptcy, while basically removing all controls on predatory lending. I am not saying the Demcrats are any better only that McCain is not the Great White Hope.

WTF are you smoking? RJ and others have already said they aren’t voting McCain because of half of this shit.

As for the supplying the rich part… you’re an idiot. Letting people keep their money isn’t “supplying” you moron.

Also, we don’t want nor do we think McCain will save those businesses. Quite the opposite, we want them to fail.

Just like you have.
