NOTES: Love the band DLs lost my balance a little, but this will definitley be a main stay for me. Got the 465 to my knee then gave out twice DAGGA! Is it ok not to like Pendlay or BB rows? lol I would rather do Tbars or DB rows, it just doesent feel right. Anyways heres a vid…(oh and nikki caught a case of the ghey, as you can see)

At least you got the 465 up! The ground is the hardest for me. Once I get it off the floor, I got it in the bag.

You’ll get it.
Ah sorry about the ghey. Get that shit in rotation. I’m hoping that my hammies will recover for tomorrow because I’m hyped to do them again.

I have a hard time doing unsupported rows after deads so I rarely do BB rows if deads are the starter.

Lol, ask anything anytime. I have more questions than answers but will always help if i can.
I answered band question in my log.

This makes sense, I just couldnt get a full range of motion, had no strength, will possibly switch it around.

nice work that is a good session.

I think you have more then 475 in there
you need to ‘grease the groove’

BO rows of any type are hard enough I dont think I could do them
on a deadlift day

I think BB rows suck. I keep hearing how great they are but when I see people doing them they have such shitty form and use so much body english I always think they’d be better off doing DB rows or t-bars.

I tend to agree, I feel I get more out of DB rows, Tbars and even the ISO HS row more than BB rows. Its almost impossible for me to not use some sort of body english when going heavy (for me being 275+)

Theres also another issue that people never talk about and thats body weight. I am back dominant so I can BB row 75-100lbs over my body weight. But my form goes to shit because my body mass isn’t high enough to to not get pulled forward.

Maybe switch your rows to upper day? One of my all time favorites is the bar in the corner t-bar row with a “v” handle under the bar for grip. We did them years ago because that was the only way to do them. I hadn’t done them in years and added them a few months ago and i was like WTF, why did i ever stop!

Yes I love these, Im Benching tomorrow and may alternate these between the CS DB row.

What is a CS db row?

I like the pendlay row

Its allot of work to keep good posture and an arch.
that is why I like them cause I need to work on those areas
recently I like them more then Kroc or Heavy DB rows,
and I like those allot I have a good grip so I enjoy them allot

chest supported row might be my favorite- but the one at my gym sucks
T-bar rows kill my lower back
for pump type crap hs or other machines might be better.

everyone is different

Oh my bad Chest Supported DB row

Yeah, I love Tbars, and depending on how the sunlight hits my ass I either like DB rows or not LOL, I love the ISO low row too.

Hey matty, for row or tbar row variations take a look at John Meadows Youtube channel. One arm bb rows, meadows rows, BB deadstop rows in the smith machine, for ex. BB deadstop rows in the smith machine should take most of the body english out of the movement.

Thats a good idea Yonk, I do love the Meadows Rows, unfortunately the station where I do em has been broken for a month…I will definitely take a look at his channell…1 arm BB rows hmmmm interesting…

Holy shit…i had no friggin idea there are so many rows…dam lol

meadows rows can be done on a tbar row “machine” or with a oly bar crammed in the corner.

Solid deads Matty. Quit looking around though as your form breaks down a bit. I would also turn away from the mirror so that you’re not distracted. I think of the handful of times I’ve hurt my back with deads and it’s exactly when I’m distracted that it happens. You’re putting a lot of forces on your body so it’s important to focus. Damn, that sounds a lot more like a lecture than I meant it to. Sorry.

If you don’t like BBRs then don’t do them. I love them and get a lot of strength from them but if you don’t then why spin your wheels. I like DB rows too but our pansy DBs don’t really go heavy enough.
