Xmas Gift For a Girl That Trains?

She trains with Lexen team extreme. People might argue and split hairs if somebody said they were one of the best in the country (although off the top of my head, with Wenning, Fought and Vogelpohl, you’d have a tough time not putting them in the mix,) but that aint no local gym.

I have no idea who her boyfriend is, but it’s not too hard for me to believe that it’s someone approximately as big as posted.

Buckeye Girl, if you were into strongman training I’d offer you to come by CT Strength if you’re ever in connecticut … but in that case I’d probably want to come by Lexen when I’m out for the arnold ;-)
Thanks KBCThird! Strongman is awesome, though I think I’m a little small to become a strongwoman.

I just wanted to point out that I train at Lexen, but I do not train with Team Xtreme. I’m fortunate enough to get advice from some of the strongest men and women around, but I can only dream of being near their level.

I’m 98% sure thats Chuck from back in the day. Cool picture.

Ouroboro is right. How could I forget Pudzianowski?

I came across this picture of Jill Mills when I was looking for Pudzianowski. Thats pretty cool.

Or someone got the same tattoo as him…

No problem. ANd not to drag you away from PL, but the amateur circuit’s women’s LW class is 140#, and being in columbus there’s a great crew there, Team B.O.S.S., if you ever did want to try it out

www.nastrongmaninc.com … I’m just sayin’…

Weren’t you talking about doing DC and doing a show a few months back? Did that ever go down? Or am I thinking of someone else.

I DC’d off and on for a little more than a year but have no plans of competing in anything but PL.

They sure can, and preferably on the same thread when someone else is basically calling the girlfriend … well, i dunno what, but saying she’s gender confused and asking if she likes cross-dressing guys and then finding out that, oh yeah, hey, that’s her boyfriend. Good times.

I had a feeling this might be the case after he came to her rescue and the “fuck you, guy” post. It is much funnier though, I agree.

Also, though he definitely sounds like he trains based on his stats, he is nowhere near the size or strength level of the dudes his gf posts and alludes to dating. Or even my size.

Not that it really matters much but considering she felt the need to validate herself to me in light of my personal tastes by throwing up pros and bullshitting it is hilarious none the less.

Id like to point out that the only thing alluding to me being fat is a picture that is over a year old and 181 is my weight class, I walk around significantly heavier than that.

Please tell me what I’ve been bullshitting about. I said that I liked big guys and that my boyfriend is a powerlifter. I never said that my boyfriend looked like Vogelpohl. You know nothing about me, or who I’ve dated in the past.

You’re taking teh interwebz way too serially.

Except you are the one all worked up so far. I think this whole thread is hilarious.

Hello. I was hoping to get a little help with ideas for an Xmas gift for my lovely wife.

She’s been training for about 10 years, but recently had our daughter on July 15, so she’s totally out of her routine. She’s breastfeeding too, which complicates things a bit because she feels that she can’t adjust her diet the way she normally would.

She usually does a 90 minute workout with 1/2 on weights and 1/2 on cardio. She does a lot of upper body and core work with the weights. Almost no lower body work with weights - she just runs and runs.

I have some ideas, but I want to get her something that she’ll love and use over and over. If anyone has any ideas for something in the following categories, I would appreciate the info.

Home Gym: I’m building a gym in our basement. We have an exercise ball and an oly bench that I use. We haven’t really put much of anything down there for her yet. Is there any equipment you gals can’t live without? If so, do you have a specific brand?

Clothes: She’s got plenty of clothes, but women can usually put more stuff to use, and she wouldn’t mind something new. Does anyone have a certain brand of clothes they absolutely love?

Gear: She’s got an ipod with the shoe thing that tracks mileage, but she never really uses it. Does anyone have another piece of gear they can’t live without?

Books: Does anyone have a book or two that really helped them along in their training and nutrition? A lot of her problem is that she is having a hard time getting back in the saddle after pregnancy.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

A classy guy. You’re wife is lucky. She’d probably LOVE a night out at a 5 star restaurant and a visit to the theatre. Don’t know how you’d make it a Christmas gift but do it anyway.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Got 3 kids and can’t imagine life without them.

I find quite a bit amazing about this discussion. First, it’s completely aesthetic. SexistTexasGuy has never qualified his judgments by discussing personality, which in context would lead me to believe that he chooses girls by merit of physical appearance alone. Second, and most hypocritical, I’m assuming, on the basis of his stats and membership here, that he enjoys a pursuit and lifestyle that he would condemn in any female worth his time.

This attitude is just another reason I can’t wait to get the hell out of Texas. They’re so frigging narcissistic. (I excuse Rainjack though, he’s OK, though he doesn’t appear too much around here anymore.)
Mine is from Texas, sluicy. He’s nice! Not narcissistic or sexist at all. Well, mostly not, anyway.

Yes, I was quite harsh. The culture as a whole is something very different from what I’m used to and it’s often irritating to me. There are indeed many exceptions. I’m sorry for insulting your husband, I have much respect for you.
