Yeah it took about 4 days, but I did it. I havent trained/posted in my log in months due to football. But in 2 months Ill be back at it

Decided to switch it up and incline bench for the first time in forever. Jesus Fucking Christ did this remind me of how little pressing strength I have; barely made the first 175 set. Must be the lack of leg drive and longer ROM (relative to flat bench). Going to focus on these for a while.

Bar speed remained relatively reasonable, which is good. I’ve taken a liking to doing a warmup set multiple times to prime myself.

Stole Adam’s recent DL rep scheme lulz. The straps allowed me to get into a better starting position; I think it’s because it can mimic the slightly higher starting position associated with the hook grip. Final rep was a little too slow but it’s all good.

Up 15 lbs from last week. Last two reps on the 2nd set were pretty bad; got too far forward and almost lost the last one. Tried to get the pauses fairly consistent, but I need to remember to maintain tension in the hole while doing so.

Incline Bench

Did some triples and decided to do a few singles. 185 felt quite fast, so I put on 205. Overshot it. Should have stuck with around 185 for the 2nd one; just wanted to do some moderate singles (ie not my max).

These felt like warmups. Banged out everything without a hitch. Tempting to go heavier, but I’d rather maintain this momentum.

Not bad for the first time doing these weighted in over a year, but fudge monkeys; that set took everything I had.
