Yeah it took about 4 days, but I did it. I havent trained/posted in my log in months due to football. But in 2 months Ill be back at it
45 x some
135x8
175x5
175x4 (started using some leg drive)
175x1
(155x3)x3
Decided to switch it up and incline bench for the first time in forever. Jesus Fucking Christ did this remind me of how little pressing strength I have; barely made the first 175 set. Must be the lack of leg drive and longer ROM (relative to flat bench). Going to focus on these for a while.
This session was pushed forward a day. Wasn’t expecting much.
Warmup - Glute Activation Work
Sumo DL
135 x some
225x5
315x3
365x2
(425x2)x2
(455x2)x3
(485x1)x5
430x5 - oddly this one backdown set was the most challenging part of the whole session, wtf
Bar speed remained relatively reasonable, which is good. I’ve taken a liking to doing a warmup set multiple times to prime myself.
Front Squat
45 x some
135x5
(185x5)x2
(220x3)x2
245x1
280x1 (PR?)
Fucked up the walkout on the 280 and it was tough. Was sort of annoyed because I wanted to make a beeline for 300, but complaining about that would be like building a house at the base of an active volcano and wondering why there’s lava in the living room.
prying w/ bar
135x8
225x5
(275x5)x2
320x5 (PR?)
(335x3)x2 (PR, I think)
Wasn’t really shooting for volume today. Wanted to make it 2x5, but considering I dumped the 4th on the first set of 335…yeah. Fucking high-bar is no joke.
Conventional Deadlift
315x3
355x3
(395x3)x4 (switched from DOH to straps for the 3rd set)
Stole Adam’s recent DL rep scheme lulz. The straps allowed me to get into a better starting position; I think it’s because it can mimic the slightly higher starting position associated with the hook grip. Final rep was a little too slow but it’s all good.
Back Raise
BW x a lot
BW 40x20
(BW 70x15)x2
Dip - 75 total reps (need to get my pressing muscles way stronger)

ever thought about bringing the bar done a smidge?[/quote]
Not really. I’ve found a pretty solid position for it.
October 4, 2012
W/U - some DB RDL’s, stretching
HB Pause Squat
prying w/ bar x 2
135x8
225x5
280x5
(305x5)x3
Up 15 lbs from last week. Last two reps on the 2nd set were pretty bad; got too far forward and almost lost the last one. Tried to get the pauses fairly consistent, but I need to remember to maintain tension in the hole while doing so.
Incline Bench
(45 x some)x2
135x5
(165x3)x5
185x1
205 x miss
Did some triples and decided to do a few singles. 185 felt quite fast, so I put on 205. Overshot it. Should have stuck with around 185 for the 2nd one; just wanted to do some moderate singles (ie not my max).
75 chins throughout
Few laps in pool
A couple of minor blunders today, but no big deal.
Felt no drive today frankly. But that’s not the issue; 425 felt like 525. Shut it down.
Front Squat
(45 x some)x2
135x8
185x5
185x2 (racked it, said “fuck it”)
Just as bad as the pulls.
Generic Barbell Row
45 x some
135x10
185x10
225x10
Took these out of a rack, bent over, and rowed without touching the floor. First time trying them in that fashion…probably the last. Pendlay-style FTW.
Today was just a no-go. Time for some recovery work (aka Team Fortress 2).
