Just did some fast triples for volume to try and get the new bench broken in. It sucks…it’s lower to the ground than the old one and I can’t use my old setup without my ass lifting off of the bench. I was able to get into a position in which this isn’t the case (keep feet pointing at less of an angle and have them back a little further), but I have no idea if I’m going to be as strong in this one and it’s still an inconvenience. What’s more, the pins are too long, and I can’t get under the bar to un-rack it by myself without hitting into them when I press. So, unless I want to lose some major tightness, I’m forced to take a liftoff…which also sucks, but is tolerable. I obviously felt a lot weaker due to all of that and the fact that I just push pressed.
Felt pretty shitty today. Stupid low back hasn’t recovered yet and I got a pump in it that affected me from the get-go, making the weight feel heavier than it actually was. Technique was also pretty hit and miss, too. I tried resetting fully each time by standing up, but I took a ridiculous amount of time between some reps due to my back. Decided to skip RDL’s…
Spotter had his fingers near the bar and may have provided a little bit of a spot. Nevertheless, I would have been able to do it either way with no problem.

I was planning on doubling that. FWIW, I inclined the other day and am still breaking the new bench in somewhat. Realized I was lacking power going into it. My new setup resembles Wendler’s heavily. Also, I’ve been lacking appetite lately for some reason. Excuses, explanations, call them whatever. Worst bench session I’ve had in a while either way.
Was deadstop but I paused the weight for a split second haha. A little surprised at how I smashed it lol. It’s so weird how I can do some reps with whatever I can break. I also noticed that my hips rise a little more and my upper back rounds when I pull heavy. It probably doesn’t look all that pretty for a sumo pull, but I guess that’s to be expected since I suck off the floor, so I think that I should just play the hand I’m dealt and get used to the style.

Friday’s pulling seemed to have taken even more out of me than I expected. My right quad/adductor area was hurting a lot and felt inflamed. I was basically limping around between sets haha. But at least I got the work in and didn’t get injured.
Decided to skip GM’s, and sprints wouldn’t be happening either.
Seated Leg Curl - 2 sets

Adductor Machine (just to ease them) - 2 sets
Chinup/Pullup - 3 sets: one underhand, one overhand, one w/ rope…each near failure
Issue should clear up quickly. Going to jump some rope tomorrow. I’m thinking about starting to take fish oil and occasionally some type of painkiller to help inflammation and hopefully boost recovery, but I’m skeptical about the cheap stuff that my parents buy; might be all rancid. Thoughts?
Pressing felt quite weak today…can’t say that I’m surprised.

I barely locked out the last rep on the first set and the bar was too far forward, so I rested a tad longer and flared a bit more and on the second set the weight felt like the child’s play that it is. Damn fuxin straight.
