I’m definitely not putting squat as a second exercise, it’s the most taxing.

Why wouldn’t you use the word over-reaching?
if you had a kid (or kids), a full-time job, bills to pay, you weren’t sleeping because of any of those and you were hitting the gym hard… you might be over-reaching if you were dieting down.

as much as school sucks for you sometimes, I don’t think it’s that stressful.
Then what’s with my bench then? :S

Haha thank you!

Had a small workout today

T-bar row (first time doing this, decided I’m going to make it a staple movement, loved it.)
2platesx6
3platesx7

BB Curl
40x6
80x7 PR+10lbs -3reps

When I did the T-Bar row, I thought the movement did not allow a fuller ROM. Didn’t you think that the 45lbs plate took too much space and you couldn’t move your elbows back as much as you want? That’s what happened to me.

squatting first is hurting your bench progress.

I guarantee that if you bench first, just one workout, you’ll see improvement.

what’s more, benching first won’t affect your squat as much as squatting first affects your bench.

I’m having trouble understanding… 3 weeks ago I benched 180 for 2… 2 days ago I benched 175 for 2… both of those times I squatted first… so my bench is regressing, but I squatted first both workouts and I was stronger the first time

Super easy workout, squat rack was occupied so did some OHP first

OHP
45x5
65x3
90x3x5

Squat
45x5
135x3
185x3
225x1
240x3x5

I was too lazy to set up the T Bar row…

-random back machines and some curls-

My elbow hurts when I do tricep isolation exercises, the fuck man.

oh hoho. Do smith JM Press, that never hurts my elbow tricep, even when my elbow tricep was injured.
Your 90% of squat is 252 lbs. Why use 240?

if your squat went up in the meantime, that’s where your energy for benching is going, and likely more of your muscle growth is bein diverted that way also.

because I don’t need 90% for my squat to increase, I’m using anywhere from 83-87% and that’s enough to increase my squat, and it’s easier, and I only need to do 3 sets haha.

Show me the JM press next time we workout together kay?

That makes sense… What ever, I’d rather add 20lbs to my squat and lose 10lbs than increase my bench.

lol with that mentality, no wonder your bench is going downhill. It’s not recovery problem, its your workout problem

it’s one thing to increase one lift while another (or others) stall. that’s acceptable and inevitable. but to increase one lift while another goes down, that’s just creating more work in the end when that other lift lags and you have to hustle to bring it up.
