X-Men First Class

Especially in that mini-skirt.

I saw it last night. I never read the comic books so I have no idea how the story really goes, but I loved this movie.

I can’t stop wondering how much they paid Hugh Jackman to just say “Go fuck yourself” .

I saw First Class yesterday. Out-Fucking-Standing. It’s easily the best X-Men movie to date. Though that isn’t saying much. Sort of like comparing Filet Mignon to dog shit. So I should say we finally have a movie worthy of the “X-Men” title. First Class had pretty much everything I was looking for in an X-Man title. Teenagers adapting to their powers. Prejudice. The dichotomy of Xavier’s and Eric’s philosophies. An entertaining story. Excellent directing and acting. And almost no Wolverine.

Banshee flying with one hand while holding someone with the other is where I just can’t let them pass. They win because of how they treated the Magneto character…but that will stand out as one of the most nonsense moments in Marvel movie history…next to an un-funny Spiderman.
Meh. I could argue the “wings” are mostly cosmetic, and that Banshee could stay airborne solely on his thrust to weight and/or lift to drag ratios.

The scene did look goofy as hell and it would have looked better if Havok had been holding onto Banshee’s boot.

I’m gonna have to agree…and the fact that he didn’t break the guys ear drums?
LRAD might disagree. I could argue that Havok might not have even been able to hear Banshee’s scream from his location.

If you want to nitpick you should have selected the “screaming at supersonic speeds” idea.

you must not have seen the first 2, they were clearly better

They sucked donkey dong.

So, is it the educated opinion of all the X-Men fans in here that they’re pretty much ignoring the previous four movies and the comic books and making their own X-Men creation story? Kind of what J.J. Abrams did with Star Trek? And if that is understood, is that okay with you?

maybe x3 sucked hard

I don’t know, it kinda seems like there are some inconsistencies but its also no where near a reboot like Star Trek, which was acknowledging what came before but said the bad guy traveled back in time and changed what happened. This just seems more like it fits in with the other four, with a few inconsistencies.

I could definitely be wrong as I haven’t read the comics and don’t know about that, but I did just rewatch all the other ones and saw first class twice so that’s my opinion. FWIW, within the four other movies there are inconsistencies as well so who knows? (Sabretooth being the largest one I can think of off the top of my head)

Wasnt a big fan of the Wolverine film, or X3, but I liked X and X2.

XFC was better than all the rest. I wish they would’ve used it as a reboot instead of allowing the fuck ups of the others to change it (Angel comes to mind)

Yeah I don’t think they will ever get x-men right since the characters to make it close to the comics will always have licensing issues. My conclusion is that Fox fucked up x-men movies forever because of that.

If marvel could get the movie rights back they could pull off a reboot and it would be great.

Just got into an argument about how Thor was a DC film. /facepalm

Question… Is this x-men related to the last ones? or is this an entirely different series with a different director etc?
This is going to be part of a new trilogy

It’s a prequal and Fox is still working on X5 and 6 currently

Fuck Fox.

Just saw it.

Meh, it was alright, boring for stretches but loved the ending. 7/10

I would consider it rentable, but not worth seeing in theatres.

Also Jennifer Lawrence is hot
