X-Men First Class

I don’t mind if you disagree.

“Hell, a real Punisher movie would be covered in blood and exposed brain matter.”

Obviously you were looking for something else in the film.

I think Matt Damon did a way better job with that in the Bond movies.
My mind is full of fuck.
BOURNE! Lol, Magneto’s awesome Nazi chase around the world reminded me of a Bond movie, as did Emma Frost’s outfit. Word got stuck in my head.

Definitely more story driven than the other X-Men movies–I loved it for that reason alone.

The on screen dynamic between ProfX and Magneto was great. The chemistry was really good.

I’m a bit confused why they showed Alex Summers but NOT Cyclops (Scott Summers); he was part of the original X-Men team, after all. Kevin Bacon was great.

If they do a follow up–and I’m sure they will–I hope they don’t fuck up the franchise, something Hollywood seems to do really well.
Apparently it’s guna be a trilogy!
This slipped my mind, but I read somewhere that each movie in the trilogy will be set in a different decade. Next one will be '70s; the third, '80s. Too early to say for sure if it’s more than just a rumor. But, interesting idea.

Question - so Alex Summers (Havoc) is Scott Summers dad or something?
Havoc is supposed to be his brother. Havoc was on X-Force, I believe.
Close… X-Factor.

Xander obviously disn’t read my post about the Summers family on the first page :frowning:

The next X-Men movie to be made is Wolverine 2, the sequel takes place in Japan.

And Hugh Jackman has supposedly been “bulking” for the role…whatever that means.

Well Darren Aronofsky was going to direct it, but he backed out. Before he backed out he stated that he wanted Jackman to add at least 20 pounds of muscle to whatever he was in the first Wolverine movie. It sounded promising, but i’m not sure anymore.

Wolverine having a Khalid moment was awesome too.
There’s a cameo moment in XFC - when you see it, you’ll laugh and laugh again at SolidKhalid’s comment

I liked the guy the cast for Magneto, I think he fit the bill nicely. The bar scene in Argentina, along with the bank scene in Switzerland sold it for me. Not a guy you want to fuck with.

He’s very good in Inglorious Basterds as well.

Was on the fence, this thread convinced me to see it, was not disappointed. Not life-changingly great, but very enjoyable.

Jennifer Lawrence is so yummy, the Rebecca cameo was kind of a let-down; “other” cameo (“Fuck off.”) was much better.

Def seems set up for a sequel.

Movie was good, not sure how I felt about the mystique Professor X relationship though. Banshee was bad ass and so was azazel. Did anyone else laugh that the black dude died. Token black dude gone and hardly remembered.

Surprised no one else mentioned this… Anyone else stay after the credits? How cool was that?

What post-credit scene? Everything I read said there was none. What did you see?

(I didn’t stay due to what I had read)

My problem with the Origins: Wolverine movie was the bullshit Hollywood moral high ground: can we have a movie where the protagonist just goes ape shit with cold blooded violence? Why is it so rare?

I feel like they would ruin a Magneto film with that shit…

Movie had its flaws of course, but I thought it was really fucking good. Enjoyed it a lot.

You do know that if you’re joking someone will hunt you down.

Nazi Kevin Bacon
Do you think he’s really fluent in German, French, and Russian or he just sounded that way? Reminded me of the guy in Inglourious Basterds…
I doubt he is. But he pulled it off pretty damn well. Reminded me of an old teacher at school -creepy as hell.
