4. Juggs ran into a wall. Der. His mutant power is being “unstoppable”.
If my memory serves correctly, Juggs never was a true mutant. He found his helmet which was susposed to have a crystal in it that granted him these amazing powers.
Then the kid sucked out the crystal’s power that it was giving the Juggernaut, hence eliminating his crystal-given mutant power.
Over analysing movies ruins the effect.
Well, it’s not so much over analyzing; it’s a pretty big discrepancy. Juggernaut wasn’t a mutant in any way shape or form. He was some skinny soldier bastard who found a magic crystal while running away from the enemy. He threw the crystal into space so nobody else could use it. The way he was portrayed is kind of like having a Corvette in a movie, and it has NO V8, and 4 doors. Knowing all this, I still enjoyed the Hell out of the movie. I plan on seeing it again.
And while that would be all true for the comic books, they didnt develop that in his character. Those who hadnt seen the comic books like you had wouldnt understand why Juggs could withstand a hit from the mutant cure. Or still plow through that one wall like he shouldnt have because of…well…you know…not to spoil.
Still my favorite of the movies.
What was the real reason Wolverine got his altered skeleton anyway? A previous poster mentioned it being something different?
Wolverine and the Weapon X story line is really complex, Marvel directory has all the information you’ll need.

Mine too.
William Stryker may have had some involvement in Wolvie getting his great skeleton; it was really the Canadian gov’t’s Weapon X program led by a Dr. Cornelius, of which Sabretooth was also a fortunate victim. Stryker certainly didn’t develop the process; that was Lady Deathstrike’s father, Lord Dark Wind(Prof. Kenji Oyama). Deathstrike believed Wolverine somehow stole the process, and sought to kill him every chance she got. Also, she was a cyborg, with long-ass claws, bionic limbs, on-board diagnostics, and whatnot. She DID have an adamantium skeleton, though, but she also wasn’t a mutant.
Juggernaut was the most poorly done comic character since perhaps Bane in the Batman and Robin film.
Looked terrible, was a completely flat character, basically just filled the Sabertooth part from the first film. (On a side note, disappointing that Sabertooth NEVER appeared again in the series). And Juggernaut is not a mutant, Cain Marko’s powers come from the Ruby of Cyttorak (spelling?). He is also extremely fucking powerful.
X2 was the highlight of the series.
That’s all I got for now.
The Boomster
Youre not talking about Christian Bale from Batman Begins are you?
I don’t know if that was supposed to be sarcastic or not, but no, I’m talking about Bane from “Batman and Robin” from '97 (I believe).
Bane, the character who broke Batman’s back in the comic series after letting all of Batman’s villains out of Arkham Asylum. In B & R, Bane was a fucking idiot who didnt say a word and was a large man in a terrible looking latex suit.
Absolutely nothing to do with Batman Begins.

I see. I forgot about that and thought You had a typo and was referring to Bale.
Faults: Cyclops died. (how can you just eliminate a main character. His death served no purpose in the movie.) Prof. X died. Cheesy one liners. Juggernaut was moronic. Archangel was a huge disapointment with no substantial role in the movie. Where was Gambit? Maybe Jubilee was in fact in the movie, but where was she? Pyschlocke or whatever her name is could have had a bigger role like she did in the comic books. How did they just drop the iceman and kitty story as soon as rogue came back and she acted like there was no problem. Rogue had a weak role in this movie compared to the other two, I thought she be a central character. Pyro was a bitch. The storyline in X2 was much much stronger. The worst part of the movie was when they all gathered up in the hall way and said they were to fight as one, fight together as X-men, PLEASE! ??How fucking corny.
With that said, Beast was fantastic. And by the way who was the guy with the spikes coming out of his face.
HOW CAN ANYONE SAY THIS WAS BETTER THAN X2? SERIOUSLY HOW? The storyline was pathetic. You all must get fascinated by simple things if you thought this heaping pile of dogshit was fantastic. Really what was it? The fight scenes? The special effects? I would like to know what did it for you.
Well, on second thought, I assume those who are raving about the movie did not follow the comic books, because comic book fans would realize what a dissapointment this has become after X2. I mean come on, are all of you the same thick meatheads who thought Jean Claude Van DAmme movies along Steven Segal movies were any good?

Beast was about as well done as you could do the character. I mocked Kelsey Grammer originally, but he did a great job…better than anyone else could. I liked Juggernaut. He was a complete moron in the comics. At least in the movie he was funny and watchable despite the muscle suit. Too many people didn’t catch the “I’m The Juggernaut, Bitch” reference so I can only guess most people who I watched it with don’t have home computers.
According to some here, Professor X may not be dead. They could “resurrect” him using the brain dead body they showed in the movie. I do hate that they killed off Cyclops and Jean. That destroys any chance of “X-Man” being born in the future and now there is no need for Bishop to ever show up. However, I do realise that they can’t follow the comic books directly in a two hour movie. Each character would need their own movie to actually do the comics justice so I took it for what it was.
Halle Berry has stated that she is done with the “superhero stuff” so I am sure some of what happened in the movie was done to reflect the fact that, while they may go on with Wolverine movies, the X-Men franchise may be done here. Overall, I have no complaints for what it was a movie. It was interesting, funny and the special effects added to the plot instead of being the whole movie.
With that said, Iceman is too damn weak, Wolverine needs about 30 more pounds of muscle, Rogue needs to grow a pair and no way would she do what she did in the movie. Either way, Collisto(sp?) kicked ass and Mystique is backstabbing bitch. Still more than enough reason to see the movie.

Most of us understand that for a comic series that is arguably one of the most complex and broad ranging soap operas ever created, it would be damned difficult to actually do the comics real justice in a 2 hour movie. They would need something along the lines of 3 Lord of the Rings trilogies (9 different movies for the slow ones) to pull that off to fans satisfaction. I took the movie for what it was…seperate from the comics.

is theyre any place i can get the entire x-men story, in a book form. or would i have to go and track them down comic book by comic book
I was also wondering this because I stopped reading the comics a while ago and would like to read about all the characters again, especially those not discussed in the movie like apocalypse and sinister.
The movie was well done in my opinion but it deviated so far from the comic book storyline of the pheonix. Why did they have to kill off all those characters? Ok so professor x is probably alive after the final scene. And cyclops MAY be alive. Jean Grey is DEAD. I don’t see her coming back from claws to the gut. And they had rogue take the “cure” so she could touch bobby. Can’t say i liked that. But who knows if the cure really works permanently. Magneto looked like he still had a little power in the chess game. The questions that it raises made it a good movie but you CAN’T just kill Jean. Bad move.

But isn’t the Phoenix notorious for “rising from the ashes”?
I don’t know from the comic books, but from the movie it seemed that Cyclops shooting the water is what allowed Phoenix to rise again, and now I’m thinking that Pyro will be the one who would be able to make her rise again (if it is in fact some kind of fire that allows the phoenix to rise from the ashes).
Some of you guys take “literal-ity” too seriously re:comics. I thought it was the best in the series. Plus, you can’t have the series go on like Friday the 13th, which is forever, as they should have let the series die…
Apocalypse would be a fantastic bad guy character. Too bad it won’t happen, as Professor X (the T-Nation Prof X) stated that with Jean and Scott dead, there’ll be no X-Man, and thus, no Bishop.
That is a picture of vinnie jones when he played soccer in england, and yes he is squeezing that guys balls,
Vinnie Jones was soccer’s hard man, basically an efforcer on the field.
I also think it is rather entertaining that he gained like 40 lbs for this movie, and they had to put a prosthetic jaw on him, so he wouldnt look as puffy (chipmunk cheeks) in the face.
I liked the movie overall. I will state however, that I haven’t ever read the comics but have picked up some of the basic storylines and backstories from the internet and other sources over the years.
I liked X-2 more than the first installment, and would put X-3 at around the same level as X-2 in terms of enjoyment. I wish that they would have made the movie longer to allow for more detailed explanations of some of the characters which were never really allowed to develop (Angel, collosus, etc).
I can see why people who are avid readers of the comic would be a bit upset, kind of like the LOTR movies, but that is just 3 books. There is just too much to the x-men comic series and spin-offs to be able to make movies that closely follow the original storyline.
Overall i think if you haven’t read the comics and enjoyed the first 2 movies you will like this one as well.
