Wow. This Really Irks Me

If you can’t put the weight back properly without dropping it then:

A) Get a spotter to help you

B) Buy some cheap extra equipment (dumbbell liftoffs for example)

C) Get your own home gym where you can do whatever you want

D) Lift a weight you can actually handle

There is no excuse for dropping weights in a public gym.

I was doing dips with the weight between my feet… it works well when you don’t have a dip belt.

Anyways, I see getting up as a good way to avoid dropping it on the incline press…and i guess i could use the same strategy for flat press too… put them on my chest and get up. Just somewhat difficult with 80lb DB’s on flat bench when my BW is 170.

It’s not like i’m throwing the weight around like i see at my gym… i’m well aware that is just for attention/they don’t care. But i dropped the weight like 6 inches(less than a foot for sure), and yes, it’s “rubberized”, so they bounce fairly easily.

I still will drop the weight fairly rapidly on my last set of a heavy press… i don’t see how you guys are able to push your arms to near max and still have the energy to set the weights down, nicely.

DB dropper and over-grunters and spotting “it’s all you” yellers should pay 2x gym rate.
If they wear clown pants triple.
Squat rack curlers add another 2x.
Don’t rack the weights? add another 1x
complain about the music? add another 2x

This should cover the extra staff needed because of meat headed habits, extra equipment needed, etc.
park and take up two parking spots “cuz of yo bitchin’ ride” add another 2x.

I still think you should stick the db in your shorts.

DB

i give up, just because i go to a gym where i MIGHT see someone who can spot me, since everyone is old/walking on treadmills/pumping out 3 sets of 10 with 30lbs on the machines.
THen i get yelled at for ACTUALLY working out, and dropping a DB 5 inches that is rubberized.
If that makes sense to you, i can’t reason with you at all.

/i won’t be coming back to this thread.

Look bro, put your I-pod on before you get in the gym. Pull your hat or beanee down low so as not to make eye contact with anyone. and dont forget to order you a few shirts from aminalpac.com. My favorite is " IM NOT HEAR TO TALK " If you pay your gym dues, drop all the fucking weights you want, And for God sakes if the people in your gym dont like the over grunting tell them to fuck off.

I once saw a young dumb shit squeeze himself into a spot and fucked up this dudes set. Dude was huuuuge and grunting like a beast! Kid pissed him off so bad he snatched the 35lbs dumbell out of the kids hand and chucked it across the gym. Moral to this story, there is always an appropriate time to throw weights around. Oh yea, the kid is now real respectable of other peoples space.
