Here in Houston, a local radio station is selling tickets to one of there annual concerts called Buzz Festivus. The catch is that they will not tell anybody who is performing until all tickets are sold out.
What kind of crap is this?
The only thing this shows me is how the radio stations have monopolized the market. This is their ultimate ego boost.

Have they done this before? If so you could check the previous show’s band list to see if they get shit local bands, good local bands, big bands, etc.[/quote]
It is supposed to be a very famous band and a major venue.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy them. If only because that kind of behavior from the radio station would piss me off. It seems they’re trying to help out a band that would otherwise not receive that kind of audience.
The Buzz Fest usually happens at the Woodlands Pavillion and is sort of a one off Lollipallooza/Ozzfest sort of thing with the bands of the moment. I used to go when I lived in Spring and had a blast. Saw The Offspring and such (this was late 90’s) Usually 5 or so bands.

I am guessing the Buzz is a Clear Channel owned station? If so, expect a major band or two that fits the station’s format, as well as a bunch of up and coming bands that so far have received limited airplay.
They control the concert business in most markets. You’ll probably get a pretty safe, middle of the road show. Don’t expect Metallica or that GNR reunion.

The talent pool was much better then. It is just pathetic how Clear Channel can pull this off.

I forgot to mention that the Woodlands Pavilion is probably one of the worst venues to see a show. The acoustics and show itself are great. They have turned into Nazis lately. You absolutely cannot bring anything in with you except for keys and money. You used to be able to bring drinks and blankets in. Now they jacked up the prices on everything.
