Actually yea - I’ve read all his stuff and while he’s whacky as hell, it is very amusing with that fucked up grammar and syntax of his - never fails to make me howl. : )
I think the question is, would todays bodybuilders win in arnolds time??
MInd. FUck.
It’s all about the sauce. Give yesterday’s champs todays sauce and you get today’s champions. Arnold would win the O. because he’d take what everyone today takes. He had the genetics then… the drive… the smarts… he just needs modern sauce.
If yesterday’s champs took what they took back then… then they would not win.

Back in the 70’s bodybuilding era there was only a handful of known bodybuilders, Ed Corny, Serge Nubret, Arnold Shwarzenneger etc. It would be safe to assume that if the sport of bodybuilding was recognised back then as it is today there would be so many more aspiring (and even perhaps better than Arnold Shwarzenegger)bodybuilders with great untapped potential, genetic or otherwise.
C’mon man, are you for real? Bodybuilding was way more popular & socially acceptable back then…nowadays its a freakshow that disgusts the mainstream public. With homunculi like Branch Warren winning shows, can’t say I blame them either.
i’m gonna get alot of hate for this, but while we’re talking about ‘greats’ of the past
i don’t think arnold even had a Mr O winning body, much less those many and such celebration thruoghout the ages. i think all he had was charisma and a good public persona which the heads decided were a good move. he had a wide blocky waist, flat thighs, tiny medial delts on top of a treetrunk arm and probably the weakest Mr O winning back of all time
i have nothing positive to say about haney. i don’t find anything about his physique attractive. though maybe it’s his face putting me further off (no homo, but sheesh)

??
Really?
Bodybuilding was even more of a fringe freak show back then, not less of one. The only people who usually followed it closely were other serious bodybuilders. That was before the internet. The only way you even knew how people did at contests was if you knew someone at the gym who knew them. Otherwise, you just hoped they mentioned it in a mag one or two months later.
It is like some of you have some warped sense of the way things were.
No one was looking at guys like Sergio and Arnold like they were “acceptable”.

nothing puts a smile on my face like a gh15 post

Nah - not in the 60’s and 70’s - BB was looked upon as a pure freak show and sexually suspect (gay) to boot.
Now, for sure Arnold and those guys laid the groundwork for the fitness boom in the 80’s, when BB became more mainstream and acceptable, but they were still looked at as total freaks and BB was underground at that time.
I do think that era was definitely the turning point for it to eventually become more “normal”, but I don’t think it was more accepted in 1975…

This part makes me laugh every time.
There is a lot of wisdom in those misspelled words. Only a few people will end up reading it, but they will be better for it.
i seriously have a hard time reading thorugh all of gh15’s posts because i seriously sstart laughing in real life
like, strong belly aching laughter
there’s definitely alot of wisdom there, and the rest, either fact, gossip or fiction, i just take at great entertainment value

I honestly think that now we are watching the biggest iron boom in ages thanks to the internet
The big ranks with the big boys might not be soaking up a major crowd, but look at the rest of the pie
the fitness, bikini, physique, etc divisions are bringing in major crowds. each day a new forum, website or youtube channel seems to pop up, you go on facebook and shit is spreading like wildfire
the big boys might not be becoming more desirable to the general public, but muscular aesthetic competition overall (including all ranks, shapes and sizes) and even strength sports as a whole are gradually amassing an audience imo

Good find - I saw that the other day too. Very interesting…

And based on that pose I’d say that obviously the quads are night and day, but I think Arnold had a better chest, better arms and of course the waist…
